Original Joe's — Restaurant in Beaumont

They gave me food poisoning and then tried to gaslight me that I was wrong. I ordered take out for the French Onion Soup and the Kids Mac and Cheese. The French Onion soup looked more like just a ton of onions with some cheese and croutons on top. It did not look right at all. It did not taste right either. I didn't even finish the soup (and I love french onion soup), and moved onto the mac and cheese. This also did not taste right. It almost tasted stale. I didn't finish THIS either. My stomach began to hurt and an hour later I was stuck on the toilet. I called and was told I could get a refund when a manager was in on Monday (this was a Friday night). So I go in on Monday afternoon and the Chef, who is also the Assistant Manager, tells me not only do they not do refunds, but the person who told me such information "no longer works for them as of saturday." Well isn't that convenient! The chef then also continued to tell me food poisoning does not occur until at least 24 hours after consuming food - so I must have gotten it somewhere else. Didn't know she has a doctorate either. Unfortunately - google tells me diarrhea can occur within hours of consumption. They gave me $50.00 in vouchers that can only be used for dine in. I'm never coming back here. So these vouchers are going to waste. I wouldn't even let my worst...

We always like to support local restaurants so we tried the Beaumont location a couple of months ago. I ordered the Cobb salad which is usually to die for but it was this night sub par and was still $19 which I find a little steep for a salad maybe this is going rate but it needs to be amazing at that price and it was not. Our fries in the other 3 orders were the end of the fry bin, all fry ends and small portions. Today we were on a Daddy daughter date. Our first server disappeared after taking our order and then our service started to get slower. I would rate my Ace burger at a 6 out of 10 but after our meal the server picked up our dishes and we didn't see her for about 10 to 15 minutes. Then she asked if we needed the bill, I said yes and then she went to make drinks and serve other tables so it was another 10 minutes before she came back. I'm an Original Joe's customer for about 15 years but I can't at this point say I'm vying to get back there anytime soon. I know restaurant rates are higher than normal but $49.88 for 2 people and 1 beer is high. At that rate it needs to be 9 out of 10 food and service and I just can't bring myself to go back anytime soon....

Went here July 11, 2024 about 2130. Sat down and ordered virgin Cesar and peach margarita. Then ordered salt and pepper chicken wings and table nachos with guacamole. The chicken wings did not have very much meat. The table nachos came out and had only tomato, green onion, red onion and “ jalapeños” which were green peppers. Chopped up into such small pieces and barely any on there. The server asked if everything was ok, I asked where the black olives and jalapeños were? Not much of an explanation. Gave an awkward apology and offered to give a “discount” on nachos. Which only turned out to be a $2.58 discount!!! The taxes were more on the bill! Then my friend wanted to order the cinnamon bun cheesecake to go. We did. What a let down that was. 😒 It looks as though someone was to lazy to give us a decent unbroken piece, or took a bite out of it! I’ve been to many original Joes, including this one. WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED?What happened to quality products, decent service and getting what you paid for?? So disappointed at this recent experience! At the time I did not take pics of the food. Just the dessert...
