Osmow's Shawarma — Restaurant in Bradford West Gwillimbury

Ordered chicken on the rocks - rice grains were hard as rocks (see what i did there?) Not good. Chicken was overcooked, hard and dry. Rice was hard and not fully cooked 2x in 1 night (See pictures and video, rice is chalky when pinched and it tastes like i was eating chalk). They said this is their standard. We were told that if we tried the food only 1-2 spoonful, they will replace with fries instead and refused to make a refund when we said we were not interested with fries - is that even a joke? We just wanted food that is quick and edible, an hour later, it is now going to waste. Such a shame cause we always go to this place. Will not recommend. I would stay away and find a better option in and out of town.

Edit* Although owner of the business responded to this post by asking me to call their restaurant, i would not be making that call again - i have called them yesterday 2 times to get this resolved. I spoke to the employee last night who stated that they spoke to owner who directed them that they will not be refunding money and continued to offer other food on their menu - which we aren’t interested cause we could have ordered the other option if that was what we wanted. We went back to get “new batch” of food, but had the same uncooked rice which is “their standard”. Your store have my number, call me if you are serious about making it up to...

I'm not usually one to leave bad reviews but I feel like it is necessary. Today I treated my son to lunch from Osmow's in Bradford. While I was eating my salad I came across something really chewy so I pulled it out of my mouth to see what it was. It was a piece of plastic. Not sure from what, maybe a bag or something, but it was enough for me to not want anymore. Normally I would just leave it alone and move on but not this time. We had a similar experience only a few months ago when my son was eating his wrap and he bit on a lid that was mixed into it and we complained to management but never left a review. This time is different. It seems this place is seriously lacking Food Handling Education. You need to have people properly trained in food handling to provide food service to the public in order to avoid people from getting sick from contamination or even choking on hazardous material. Recently discovered that this location had opened up in Bradford after enjoying the food and experience from the Newmarket location.

Upon ordering, I was greeted unprofessionally and had to clarify my order multiple times.

There weren't too many people that had ordered vefor me, but there was a lengthy wait time of approximately 20 to 30 minutes.

The staff assembling the orders repeatedly asked the customers to confirm what they had ordered, and even going as far to not know their own specials.

I had asked for Chicken on the Rocks with "hot" level of spice (4 lines), and upon receiving my order it opened it up and saw there were no visible lines and the food just thrown into the take out bag.

Comparing the portion-size to what I have come to know from the Newmarket location, rice and chicken portions were lacking.

The food was on the colder-side and the rice seemed overcooked, despite coming to the restaurant 15 minutes after it had opened (11:15)

I guess the Newmarket location will still have my business...
