When we arrived we were seated. There was cups of water at the table that looked foggy. The glasses they had the water in were a turn off as they looked cheap and have been used way too much. But the reviews seemed like the place was worth giving a shot so we decided to proceed : after realizing there were floating particles and debris in our water we decided to not drink from their cups and ordered bottle water instead. We ordered the grilled platter and biryani large dish.
After a lengthy wait for fresh food which is fine we were given the grilled platter, the waitress asked if we wanted our chicken biryani now or later???? It’s like what?????? Ummmm obviously if we ordered biriyani we want it altogether! How amateur is that!! Why on earth would we want to sit there and eat grilled pieces of meat without our biryani rice to go with it? Right away I knew this place was a 1 star joint.
I was fuming angry watching as my grilled dish that I paid $30+ for was getting cold waiting for the biryani rice to come. Food was tasteless to me. I didn’t enjoy myself. Atmosphere was was nice. Seating was nice, but definitely kissed my $80 goodbye.
My son had to spit out his egg from the biryani because he said it taste nasty. The chicken from the grilled dish taste rank. Their chutney and other sauces had no taste as well.
Let’s face it the restaurant business is over saturated and as a restaurant if you aren’t bringing your “A game” to the table for every single customer you just really shouldn’t be running a restaurant. Whether you are a family owned business or not you will eventually go under. This restaurant has gotten its fair share of bad reviews so by now they should know where their weaknesses are and fix what’s wrong going forward. They will become strong and be able to excel In service if they do. I will not be returning to this...
Read moreWent for lunch with family and ordered special mutton biriyani topped with boiled eggs and chicken 65 with raita and mirchi ki salan, Baigs grill platter, Kali Mirchi Gosht and for dessert Qubani ka meetha. First came the sizzling grill platter comprising tikka boti, malai kabab and chicken and beef sheekh kabab. They were so good, every one of them, tender, juicy with the right amount of spices and sizzling hot. All of us gave a unanimous 5 star. The special mutton biriyani was on a big platter enough for the 5 of us with big chunks of mutton - not the lamb on the biriyani that you find in other places and banquet halls. The masala was just enough not overbearing and the meat was tender and good. This is a good Hyderabadi biriyani. Again all of us enjoyed it. We would give it 4.5 to 4.75 stars. The topping of chicken 65 tasted good as well. With a little bit of tweaking with spices, the mutton biriyani could get 5 stars. The kali mirchi gosht was amazingly good. Were afraid that the black pepper would be too strong but the dish was really good. The veal was tender and could be mistaken for lamb, that's how tender and succulent it was. Finally to finish it off the qubani ka meetha was the pièce de résistance! Wow! We normally give it a pass when this dessert is served, but this time we gave it a try. My word, it was so amazingly good! The service was good and timely. We generally never comment - good or bad - unless the food is really good and this restaurant deserves it. Will...
Read moreI initially visited this restaurant after reading numerous positive reviews. I have family friends who go here as well. But after today’s experience left me feeling dissatisfied which is leading me to leave this negative review.
I bought a biriyani and chicken 65 which I have tried before. But this time the chicken was over cooked and extremely chewy and dry. I tried a few more pieces to see if I was wrong but I also noticed a old taste from the marination on the chicken. It was unappetizing at that point and decided to take it back to the restaurant. I called ahead and they asked to bring it. I was received by 2 friendly waiters at the front. I lost my appetite for chicken at that point and asked for a refund but still kept biriyani which was good. They refused a refund and brought their manager. Who later accused me of bringing back a eaten box. I wish I took a picture but 80% of the food was still in that box. The manager was quite rude about the situation. Considering covid safety I couldn’t take my box back. The box switched hands between 3 employees and taken to the kitchen where they probably opened it only to find out I can’t get my money back. I understand it’s a popular item but that does not mean there can’t be a complaint. It was not even about the money but how I was received when I pointed out something was wrong. I didn’t get my money nor do I...
