Update Aug 2024. The food here can be hit or miss on days. Some days the food sits too long and not piping hot. But at the current price, it is still a recommend.

Another rare find that deserves all the attention. Royal India is a fast casual buffet that offers a variety of North Indian specialties for only $15 + tax. Yes, at the time of writing, an AYCE buffet cost less than a takeout container at your local food court. Fresh Naan and tandoori Roti is made to order.

The food here stays hot in the warning trays and buffet table was very clean. Here's my feedback on each dish.

Naan - made fresh to order. Crispy and flakey edges, with a soft bready interior.

Chaat - I call these Indian nachos. Rice chips topped it with potato's and chick peas, yogurt dressing and mint chutney. Absolutely delicious.

Channa Masala - a chickpeas with gravy fish that's very balanced and on the savory side, a for sure must try for vegetarians.

Daal Makami - sweet peas in a curry that's balanced and not overwhelming.

Butter chicken - sweet and savory, rich and creamy. This is the cream of the crop dish.

Saag Paneer - my absolute favorite. It's earthy and savory, and warms the soul. Only true foodies can appreciate a simple, yet complex dish like this.

Goat curry - slight hint of game, I personally don't like goat but the curry had a very deep, savory flavor.

Tandoori chicken - you will have to request this and they will prepare it in the back. Very delicious and they drizzle lemon on top which gives it a nice tang to cut the richness.

Mattar - it was savory and tangy, cuts through the richness and a nice change from the other rich flavors.

In my opinion, the quality of food here tops those of big chain Indian buffets in the GTA. Of course you won't get a large variety of dishes, but the popular Indian dishes are enough for me.

The restaurant also sells Indian sweets in colorful boxes. I heard that area a big caterer as well.

Restaurant seats only 20 (5 tables of 4) and gives off family diner vibes. Very clean place.

Service is friendly. Do not expect to get full service at $15. It's self serve. They do not clear your plates until you leave. Utensils are placed at the buffet section. They'll refill your...

I visited this place about 2 weeks back and the food was excellent. Authentic Indian food at a more than reasonable price especially the buffet. It had 2 chicken, 1 mutton and 2 paneer dishes. The place is small but quaint, however the buffet counter is clustered. I was extremely happy with the quality and taste of the food served.

However there was one thing which put me off and I just wasn't able to ignore it. I served myself the food from the buffet counter sat down and started eating with my hand. After a few minutes the waitress walked up to the table, placed a spoon and a napkin beside my plate and said "Please eat with the spoon, not with hand". I didn't think much of it then, I mean every establishment has it's own rules so I went ahead, washed my hands and started eating with the spoon. I soon noticed the other people eating naans (A type of Indian bread) with their hands were not asked to do the same. In fact it's quite impossible to eat naan with cutlery. Now I wondered why I was asked not to eat only rice using my hand.

As my sister and I were about to pay leave my sister asked the waitress why exactly we were asked not to eat using our hands especially considering its an Indian restaurant and eating with hands is the traditional South Indian way of eating. The waitress told us that in the past other North Indian customers have complained about South Indian customers eating with their hands stating that it made them uncomfortable. I can't help but feel that I was treated in a racist way.

This has been bothering me so much that even 2 weeks after visit to the restaurant, it's lingering in my mind and led me to...

Went here with my family on mothers day and it was the absolute worst. Highly suggest never eating here. Food was terrible, the better chicken had no chicken and had a lot of bone fragments and we were served burnt naan. Worst customer service ever, we had to move the table to accommodate us(family of 6). Also, we were not served water, had to ask for it and the working never check on you. When we arrived, the buffet stand had no chicken and it was filled only about an hour later, not even fully filled half filled, I was only able to get one piece. Also, i was not able to get gulab jamun bc they were finished and not refilled. They were packing take out container with food from the buffet stand, which reduced the food and got in my way of getting food for myself. Lastly, the place was very dirty, one customer poured food on the floor and when cleaning the table for the next customers they did not even clean the floor. It was very annoying having to step over the food that they did not bother to clean. DO...

Ordered via Skid. The food actually tasted really good. The butter chicken could've had a few more peices. The best was the chicken tikka. Generous portion of moist and tender chicken pieces, which tasted like bbq on coals. With both dishes, the chicken was moist and tender. Great prices, will definitely order again and try other dishes. The way the food was packaged was good. Each little bag was stapled and the main bag was tied off with tape. I guess to make sure your food doesn't get tampered with.

I ordered the goat curry from the restaurant and when i started eating it their was not even a single piece of meat.Even though the taste was good but it was all full of goat bones. I am really disappointed with my experience as this was the first time I have ordered through them. Just a suggestion to the restaurant at the first place their is no need of adding bones to the curry when you are cooking because all i got was just bones no piece of meat.
