Chuck’s Roadhouse Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Brampton

We came here a few weeks ago and enjoyed ourselves. Food was good and the prices were as well. Decided to come back again, my partner ordered his steak Medium Rare, the most common way to order a steak. First one came out and it was medium well - no pink whatsoever. We flagged down our waitress and informed her it was over cooked, you could tell by looking at it. She brought it back to the kitchen, within seconds she returned saying "the chef says this is medium rare so what is the problem". We were shocked, what chef would look at a grey steak and say it was medium rare? She said if we asked for medium rare again it would come back the same so did we want it medium? Again confusion, that would make it MORE cooked, we want it less cooked. She goes to the kitchen, another waiter returns, again asks what the problem is. We explain, we asked for Medium Rare, which this is not. 20 minutes later they bring a new steak, it's cooked the exact. Same. Way. This time the waiter waited to see, immediately we said no, it's medium well, again. He had the audacity to blame the steak saying it's small. What? My partner got the exact same order a few weeks ago and it was perfect. Another 15 minute wait and if you guessed the third steak was also over cooked, you'd be right! In fact, this one was even worse! My partner ordered a burger instead but now we had been here for nearly 2 hours, the kitchen wasted 3 steaks, he still hadn’t eaten and nobody seemed to be bothered that their chef doesn't know how to cook a medium rare steak. Another lady a few tables down from us had the SAME problem too, so it's not just us. We ended up just canceling that order and asked for the bill, they ended up bringing us the burger anyways, comped that and the uneaten steaks, we weren't ready to leave but couldn't stay there anymore. Also, my drink was empty for over 50 minutes, I asked for a refill after 30 minutes, twice. It finally got brought to me, after we said we’d like the bill and were leaving. My partner ate the burger at home - it was also over cooked. The chef must not know how to cook meat. At this point he was starving and it’s less of an issue with an over cooked burger, more just disappointing, can’t cook steaks and can’t even cook burgers! If they had told us it was the chef’s first night we might have been more understanding, but even then, you’d think a chef would learn their timing if the first 2 steaks were over cooked. I went to the Brampton location with two other people last night to have a few drinks and a small app before heading home. We went in to the bar section and sat at a table. The bartender did not come over to us but instead yelled from across the bar for us to tell him our order. When we placed the order he put the order on the bar and told us to come get it. I wasn't finished ordering when i walked up because we all wanted to share an app but he said very rudely my total was 18.25. I told him I was looking to run a tab and we needed an app. I would like to say the spinach dip was very good i enjoyed it but the service from this bartender was appalling. A bit later he yelled across the bar "its last call do you want anything else" i said back yes one more round. I had ordered a double cosmo and i followed my response with its a double and he snapped back rudely THAT IS A REPEAT ORDER ISN'T IT? obviously he was in a bad mood so i just said ya OK thank you. He brought this round over. He than followed with the bill. When he came over to proceed with payment i tried to make small talk with him and he was rude a sarcastic and basically threw a cold shoulder to me. I have never been to this establishment but I can promise this will be the last. The service from the bartender was horrible, i am a bartender myself so i understand the stress one can be under but being that rude to customers is unacceptable. I was trying to be friendly with him on multiple occasions and each time received a snappy rude comment. I felt judged and poorly treated. I would like to add when we left i noticed him still serving a gentleman at the bar that just arrived, so i don't no why the bartender was so aggressive with getting us out of there. This bartender has ruined my first and only visit to your location and I would just like the establishment to know the reputation that is being built by your front line. As a guest I should not have to be told to come get my drink when it is not even busy and I should be able to enjoy myself with out feeling the way I did last night. First time eating here . . .will likely be the last. Party of two. Got table quickly. Someone came and took order. Friendly and in good time. Went downhill from there. Two servers came over to deliver cutlery and condiments before the food came. Couldn't have looked and acted more miserable if they tried. Didn't say a word, just tossed things down on the table. Someone else came after with food. We both ordered rib and wing combo. I've never seen smaller chicken wings in my life. They tasted good, but so small there's barely any meat. Then my ribs were a little overcooked. I was given 4 small ribs. My partner was given 6 small ribs. Not really sure why. So we divided them evenly instead. And . . That was the last we saw of any staff. No one came to check on us. Couldn't flag anyone down for drinks or extra napkins. (we each are given one napkin. For ribs and wings???). So we finished our meal without any attention. Probably sat there finished for 10 or 15 minutes before we were able to get someone to take our plates away. Was hungry enough for dessert, but . . . No one asked. So instead just asked for the bill . . .which was another 15 minutes coming. Dropped the payment terminal off and walked away . . But it wasn't even at the point it should have been given to the customer. So fumbled my way through to finally get it to a point where I could pay. Needless to say, neither of the three tip options were all that enticing but . . . .no option for anything else. Was worth it just so we could leave. Not sure if it was all new staff tonight or what the problem was. Didn't seem to be overly busy. Was certainly empty tables around. Needless to say, would have to be some big changes before...
