Chung’s Caribbean Hut — Restaurant in Brampton

I been reading a lot of the great reviews on this place so today I decided to stop by to try this place out …outstanding!!

Service: was amazing the lady working the front desk was very friendly fast and efficient I placed a phone order for pick-up she told me 20 minutes and I showed up in 10 minutes and the food was ready, now that’s service!

Food: Wow is all I have to say , I ordered the spicy short ribs on fried rice , and let me tell you folks I have had a lot of fried rice in my days and this is by far the best fried rice I have ever had , it was perfectly cook , so flavorful , loaded with small bit of carrots and shallots , onions and green beans giving you a perfect texture combo , very fresh ingredients just delicious. The spicy short ribs were just divine, they were so tender perfectly cooked in an amazing glaze, spicy, loaded with flavour just a bit of heat in perfect way ,they also gave me there hot sauce on the side and I really enjoyed the unique flavor of this hot sauce it was very pleasant.

Portions: Just a very generous portion enough for me to eat in two meals huge portion for the reasonable price you pay , check these guys out of your in the...

I REALLY wish I could give this place 5 stars. I’ll be clear: the food is amazing, but the only major issue is that being able to place an order never, ever, consistently possible. It’s true that they’re closed on Mondays, and that’s fine - but they also happen to be randomly and unpredictably closed on other days too. Moreover, they don’t bother to leave a sign or phone message when they do so, and it’s impossible to tell whether their phone lines are full of whether they decided to just not show up for the day. This makes it impossible to want to eat here regularly. It would be great if they could just have some sort of system to inform customers beforehand, because we’ve gone through the trouble of calling and visiting multiple times only to see that they were closed for no explicable reason.

When they ARE open, the in-person service is great, and the food is always consistent and delicious. I just hope that they take time in the future to address this inconsistency of theirs to make it more of a reliable...

First time here, so I ordered the "house special lo mein", to go. If a place can make this, then in an instant fan.

Excellent portion size. Appreciated that the chicken "on top" was packed separately so that it started crispy and I could, as they'd say, "sort it out when I get home"... but I couldn't even wait till I got home. The smell was so good I had to speak a taste in the car - boom - the taste was wicked!

The chop up chicken was crispy outside, moist inside and perfectly balanced seasoning. Lo mein has good texture and flavor, and the veggies were cooked through while still retaining a nice crunch. Everything tasted fresh.

The woman taking orders was friendly and has a lot of positive energy - especially since the orders were backing up and people waiting up to 30 min. To me, that's I sign that the food is good (duh, look at the 4+ rating) with so many people coming in, and your order right be from food that's sitting around. I'll be back in the week for some of those...
