Worst restaurant in Brampton.
Tldr: All the food was terribly overpriced and was mediocre at best. Ex. I paid like $15 for gol gappay, where they gave about 2tbsp of potatoes, 2 tiney chutneys, and the water. They didn't preassemble it, just put them on a plate for us to do it ourselves. The service was terrible and the ordering system was very frustrating. They also put a giant bush in front of the automated door button by the entrance for wheelchair/stroller access so you can't even access the button. We tried to cancel a dessert dish after 25 mins of waiting, but they apparently didn't have the ability to give refunds after a cancelled order. Avoid like the plague.
Fullish story I had gone there with my physically disabled mother in law, my wife and my toddler son. When trying to enter the restaurant, we noticed that they put a giant bush in front of the automated door opener button and made it so you cant even use it. We were lucky that my wife had a free hand to open the door for us, otherwise getting my mother in law's wheelchair and our stroller through the door would have been impossible as the doors were heavy and open outward.
The ordering system is annoying and doesn't have complete information. Their website had more details so we were cross referencing the items against the website to get an idea of the menu items. The employees don't know anything about the menu items or what they come with so they can't bridge the gap. I asked two staff if the "rolls" used roti or paratha and both couldn't answer. The ordering screen also shows the add ons in a confusing way to get you to pay for extras. For example, it doesn't tell you whether something is included and is asking you for extra, or whether it is not included and is asking you for an add on. It highly seems like it is purposefully confusing so you buy more stuff. Overall it's the worse UI for an order system I've come across And makes what should be a simple process of ordering a few items to take 15 minutes. They don't have anyone helping you with the system either, you just walk into the store and the staff just points to the screen and tells you to order there. The stupidest part about it is that you can't even order drinks on the screen. You have to go to a different station and order at the register with a staff member.
After our mains, we tried to order a dessert dish that had jalebi. Apparently they don't keep the fryer hot and ready to go because we had waited about 20-25 minutes and the cook made 2-3 batches that he had to throw out because the oil wasn't hot enough. My toddler and disabled MIL were getting restless so I went up to the front to cancel the order because it was taking too long. The staff first said that we had to ask the cook to get started on the dish and assumed that we didn't, and so attributed the delay to that. Even if my wife hadn't gone directly to the jalebi counter after placing the order, it's kind of nonsensical that we would have to tell someone to start making the dish after we had ordered it already. Then she said that the dish usually takes about 15-20 mins. I pointed out that it had already been 25. She then cancelled the order but told us that she can only give a gift card. Considering that we didn't like the experience at all, I told her I didn't want a gift card and would like a refund. She told me that she didn't have the authorization to refund and someone would call me the next day. I left and awaited my call. 1-2 weeks passed and no one called. I called back and someone gave the refund that day.
It's probably the worst Indian restaurant I've ever been to. The food was lackluster and overpriced, and the service was terrible. There are hundreds of good desi restaurants in Brampton that you can go to for better bang...
Read moreMy review is just a personal experience of us visiting this place. Me and my family visited this self-service, Indian style street food outlet, recently in January 2025. Guests order food by themselves by using Kiosks (a digital booth that takes your order). You can only pay with a card.
After food is ordered, there is a waiting time (in our case it was 20mins). The digital screens placed at multiple spots, would show the status of your order. Once your order number appears in the green part of the screen, you have to go to the respective counters to collect your food items (they dont come to serve food on your table).
We ordered Bhalle Papdi Chaat, Kachori Cholle and a Paneer Dosa. Everything was too spicy except the Dosa. The Kiosks have no option to select or adjust the spice level. No personal specifications/comments like less spicy or no green chutney can be mentioned in the order as the kiosk (computer) is taking the order and also there is no ‘comments’ or ‘instructions’ section . When we mentioned the issue (too spicy) to one of the employees, she mentioned that we don’t customize the food items much and there is no option of choosing spice level in the kiosk machine. Since the food was so spicy, we had to order something to sooth our tongue, which was on fire. So we ordered a Sundae (ferrero rocher sundae) which was the only one thing that we liked. After approx an hour of having food there, my husband had a running stomach due to the extra ordinarily spiced food. It took another day for him to feel better. It would be great if the order can be taken with specifications where minor adjustments can be made to ones taste and preference, specifically comments like spice levels or allergic to any of the ingredients. Though the individual food items are comparatively pricey when compared to similar food options available at other restaurants, this outlet/restaurant offers a good ambiance, clean setup and creative interior which is catching attention of...
Read moreI recently ordered chana bhatura from Happy Singh Street Eats in Brampton. When I got home and opened my order, I was shocked to see not a single whole chana in the dish.
I immediately called the restaurant to ask if this was normal. The lady on the phone explained that they mash some of the chana to give the dish a thicker consistency. I told her I understood that—but in my case, there were literally zero whole chana. I have been eating chana bhatura for many years, and this was definitely not it.
She asked me to send photos, which I did. Shortly after, she called back and told me that their chana bhatura is made “Dhail style” and that it’s supposed to be a mashed paste with no whole chana. Then she added, “Ma’am, you may not understand, but this is how it is made,” implying that because I’m not Indian, I wouldn’t understand the dish. This felt dismissive and discriminatory, as if my ethnicity meant my complaint was invalid.
The manager offered me only a $4 credit towards my next order, even though I had spent $18. Two days later, they called asking me to bring the dish back so they could “show me” this is how it’s made. I went in with a friend who is born and raised in India, who also confirmed this was not authentic chana bhatura. Even then, staff insisted we were mistaken, showed no acknowledgment that my order may have been wrong, and made no real attempt to make it right.
Final Verdict: The food I received did not match the name of the dish. The service was dismissive, unprofessional, and left me feeling that they discriminate against customers of different ethnicities by implying we “don’t understand” their food. Offering a minimal credit for a clearly unsatisfactory order is unacceptable. I would strongly reconsider before...
