First of all this is not the first time i've been here. I have traveled almost 2 hours to get here for my anniversary lunch because we wanted to go to a nice place with lots of choices and food. This place is huge and first time coming here after pandemic and they sure change a lot in menu. I dunno were to start, I guess let me start with the good and it only has one. The live cooking. That's it! Choices for live cooking is not much not alot of choices again. Shrimp, chicken and beef and imitation crab and i think 3 choices of noodles and the rest are vegies. Fyi, this is only the food I ate here because its what's good. But really how many times are you going to eat noodles? So i only had one plate. We came on a Monday. The peole around me was arguing with the host because of food as well. Then it came to me I had ask were the roast beef, dim sum, sushi and so on. Beef is only serve on a weekend i think they said dinner. Sushi was only california rolls, no choices and no dim sum. The hot food was noodles which it wasn't to my liking and i love my noodles, fried fish that was cut so thinly, chicken, vegies, i dont even wanna go on it was a small buffet area. ( my point. Go to Mandarin. You will be happy with the choice of food. No shrimp! Cold shrimp like cocktail shrimp like Mandarin so disappointed. Let me just say will never ever come back and will not recommend. Take your money somewhere else. The only good thing here is the drinks are help yourselves, you cannot finish your food and you waste it you will pay. Which is right in my opinion. Should never waste food. I personally take one item of what i like and that's how i do it and just return when you want more its a buffet after all. Wok of fame you are a disappointment. I have more to say but this is too long already. Just believe when I tell you but if you don't go see for yourself and you will remember this review. If you are a dessert person then i am sorry to say they only have ice cream and a few cut fruits and little cakes and brownies. I didn even bother. Drinks i had hot water so the fountain drinks was not worth it for me. Others will have unlimited and enjoy the fountain drink, there i guess one đ up for that. Go there for unlimited fountain drinks. Drinks all the pop you want. Here are some photos i took of our food.
The corn soup was good and the live cooking noodles was good. Just because i had no choice. Good choices that is. At least that's what I was told by one fo the guest that was also there celebrating a bday with her son which by the way fyi you dont get to eat for free on your bday unless you are paying for 3 adults. That's ...
Read moreThe food quality was great! The atmosphere of the interior design and overall architecture was comforting. The service today at lunch was surprisingly lacking.. seriously. For the first solid half of our meal, the 2 servers responsible for our section stood at their station talking most of the time. We had dishes and glasses that needed clearing, drinks to be ordered, napkins to be replenished, etc., etc.. it was so frustrating. I had to bring my teapot up to ask for hot water. When another server asked where I was sitting, I bluntly answered while pointing "that large table of 16 that is being ignored". It was not busy the entire time we were there. Our section was at less than 40% capacity. And the servers had plenty of chat time. I have been in the same industry for more than 3 decades. And I am an understanding and forgiving type. I also tip very well.. 10% when dissatisfied and up to 40% depending on the size of the bill. Today's visit really woke me up to the reality of the different work fabric of today's workforce. The latter part of the meal had another server help us and she was great. Attentive and polite. She was the Hail Mary that saved the day.. for both sides of the dining equation. Had she not contributed when she did, I would have considered cutting out Wok Of Fame from our dining routine/roster for the next fiscal quarter or two, to give them time to fix their service game. I am looking forward to enjoying food at WOF next time. I am sincerely worried about how the service will be when I do. I will follow up with my results. .. (after another dinner with wife and our friend and his son).. FANTASTIC!! Eventhough there were 3 lazy servers talking with each other non-stop our whole meal tonight, there were still 2 hard working servers who consistently helped us with smiles. Thank you so very much (to those who actually worked and helped make our stay feel welcoming and warm)!! The owners much be super rich and/or having their family/friends on the floor but not working. After 32 years of various F&B positions, I have never seen so many excess/not essential staff in greater numbers than useful/helpful/essential workers in a business during an economic downturn. Wow. Anyways, food quality was great. I still tipped $25.00. If service is not important to you, Wok Of Fame is a great spot to enjoy...
Read moreOverrall impression and thoughts: Website said 35 dollars for an adult. Went with my mom and grandma, and it totaled to 170$. Food was not good enough to make up for it. I could've spent a little more and gone to copa cabana. Like this is genuinely ridiculous. If you're looking for a buffet, Mandarin is leagues better. And it won't lie to you about pricing, and charge u for a bunch of random garbage. Do not recommend this place especially in this economy. Food: Tons of options. Lots of more desserts than other buffets I've been to. Quantity over quality? Very much so. The food was okay. Nothing amazing, just decent. For the price? Disgusting. It should be illegal to charge that much. Swiss chalet is on the same level when it comes to overrall taste/how well the food was made and is wayyy cheaper. I know swiss chalet isn't a buffet or serves these types of dishes, but it's still more of a value, in bringing this up because i love chinese food and would much rather eat swiss chalet than at wok of fame. Hope it can put some perspective for it. Id much rather eat bland food for cheap than bland food that should taste flavorful and is also 3x more expensive. The food is not worth it. Go order chinese, buy some desserts. That's 80$ for 3 ppl. Location: Pretty nice looking buffet. I love the layout and how the food is organized. Its more spacious and the tables are all pretty respectful. It feels a lot less claustrophobic than mandarin. I'm not comparing Mandarin much because there is no comparison. Really, there's no point in going here when Mandarin exists. The 2 stars really only comes from the fact that the food isnt terrible and the restaurant has an amazing layout. It's no better than fast food. No amount of presentation can make up for the price. And to think they still charge u extra for drinks. We got no drinks and it still came out to 170$. Ridiculous. Don't come here if you're not rich and have money...
