Came in at 11:30am and left at 1pm.
Service: When we came in, the male server assigned to our table had quickly tended to us, however we were not yet ready to order so we asked for a bit more time to decide. We had decided after maybe 5 minutes and had not seen our server for 20 minutes since the initial sit-down. It took us maybe around 10-15mins to get the drinks we ordered and then another 20 mins for the food. We had finished eating within 10 mins as we got full about halfway-in. We had to ask a different female server to get our server’s attention so we could ask for the bill + containers for our food. I watched as the female server talked to our server, and our server had disappeared yet again into the kitchen for a long period of time. Eventually, we got to pay but I needed lids for the sauce container as we had gotten the cinnamon dippers. I asked our server for the lids after we had paid. Though I had hoped he would deliver the lids to us quickly as we needed to leave, he had disappeared into the kitchen and never came back with the lids. We watched as he tended to other tables on the occasion he did come out. So, we had asked for the female server’s help again so we could get the lids and go. Also was given the wrong drink, but they covered it. I don’t think it was much of a staffing issue as the restaurant was not busy at all + it was very easy to get the other server’s attention. I saw the female server tend to the other tables far more often than our server had tended to ours.
Food: We got blueberry pancakes, strawberry cheesecake waffles, tres leches pancakes, cinnamon dippers, and crispy potatoes (I don’t remember the name). Blueberry pancakes - lots of blueberries layered in between the pancakes and on top, it was good. Strawberry cheesecake waffles - lots of strawberry pieces, almost no cheesecake mousse. It was a little dollop of cheesecake mousse in the center of the waffles hidden underneath the whip cream. Wish it was more of a drizzle or just a larger amount of cheesecake mousse. The tres leches pancakes were good, absolutely covered in sauce. Cinnamon dippers were like churros but in donut hole form. Potatoes were super good. They were crispy on outside and fluffy on inside.
TLDR: ok food, horrible service. If you don’t want to spend more than an hour for brunch,...
Read moreMy wife and I visited your location for the very first time on Sunday prior to our church meeting. We were greeted by Deandra and seated and served by her in a very friendly cordial manner. She was very attentive to our words and needs. My wife ordered the gluten-free pancakes and to our surprise (and I’m sure Deandra’s) there was no gluten-free pancakes available. This was not known to us until after we had ordered. Poor Deandra had to come back and inform us that there was a backorder. Then we had to take the extra time to carefully look at the menu for other gluten-free options. Please make sure your staff are aware what’s available before they start their shift so that they can inform your guests before they begin to look at the menu. My wife has celiac and is limited to what she can have. Before I ordered the breakfast sampler for myself, I double checked that the pancakes were all the same price before I ordered the sampler with chocolate chocolate chip pancakes. I asked Deandra if there was an extra charge and she said there wasn’t any. Again to our surprise (and again the Deandra’s embarrassment) she had to once again come back to our table and inform us of an additional charge for the chocolate chocolate chip pancakes. If all your pancake dishes are the same price there should’ve been no additional cost when I asked for chocolate chocolate chip pancakes. I would be very interested to know why this is so. Also, If I had known of the $2.50 charge for adding a little cheese to my scrambled eggs, I certainly would not have ordered it (is that stated on the menu? I recognize the fault as mine if I did not see it). There was so little of it, it wasn’t worth ordering. Very disappointing. Finally, why on earth is coffee so expensive? Atrocious! Do you really have that much overhead that you have to jack up the price so much? My wife was so happy when IHOP came to the GTA. She certainly was not happy to see such high prices. We definitely will need to think twice before eating out anywhere fancy...
Read moreI recently visited IHOP with my kids and while the server was really sweet, the food was atrocious. When we got there the booth she directed us to was dirty. I attempted to look for a wash cloth to clean the mess but when she couldn't find one she just moved us to another booth. It wasn't exactly clean, just less dirty than the first booth. I should have took that as sign to leave, especially since it was lunch time and during summer holidays and there was only 2 other couples in the whole restaurant.
My daughter and son both ordered eggs as part of their meal, which came out disgusting!! The eggs were served white and yellow, not the usual nice fluffy buttery yellow eggs we're used to. It's like they cracked the eggs into the pan partially fried then and then scrambled afterwards. My daughters hash browns were burnt on the top and raw on the inside. My French toast was raw and eggy. I couldn't even eat it i was gagging. Our bacon was burnt on the edges and under cooked in the middle, which is just baffling. My other daughter's mac and cheese was probably the only half decent thing on the menu, but it was kraft Mac and cheese from the box. When we complained about the food, the server offered just us more bacon, which wasn't really what we needed. She ended up bringing us a plate of bacon and some better cooked eggs but we were already turned off. More than half the food wasn't even touch and they didn't even they didn't even offer any adjustment to the bill.
My daughter had to rush to the washroom before we left, and if that wasn't enough, 2 of 3 my kids myself included, all ended up getting sick coming out of both ends afterwards.(TMI sorry) The rest of the evening and part of the following day was spent in the washroom. Honestly us getting sick was just the final straw. We will never go back there nor...
