Saravanaa Bhavan – Brampton Location 📍295A Queen St E Unit 50, Brampton, ON L6W 4S6
We recently visited Saravanaa Bhavan in Brampton and had a really satisfying experience. If you’re looking for authentic South Indian vegetarian food, this place absolutely delivers.
Out of everything I tried, the parata with channa was hands down my favorite. The parata was soft with just the right amount of crisp on the edges, and the channa was flavorful and perfectly spiced not too oily or overpowering like you sometimes get elsewhere. Honestly, it stood out even compared to the other main dishes I sampled.
The menu is pretty extensive, with lots of South Indian staples Dosas, Idlis, Thalis and Parata’s. We also tried the Mini Tiffin and Ghee Roast Dosa, both fresh and tasty. The coconut chutney deserves a special mention it had that creamy texture and light kick that brings everything together.
Service was friendly, though a little slow since the place was packed. Not a big deal, but something to keep in mind if you’re in a rush. The vibe is simple and clean nothing fancy, but comfortable enough for a casual meal with family or friends.
Prices are fair, and the portions are generous. The place is fully vegetarian, and there are plenty of vegan-friendly options too.
What I loved:
• The parata & channa combo seriously, try it!
• Authentic flavors, especially the chutneys and sambar
• Good portion sizes and reasonable prices
• Clean, no-frills dining space
What could be better:
• Service slows down during peak hours • Parking in the plaza can be tight
Overall, Saravanaa Bhavan is a dependable spot for delicious South Indian food. I’ll definitely be going back if only for that...
Read moreI recently visited Saravanaa Bhavan in Brampton with high hopes for authentic South Indian food. Unfortunately, my experience left me quite disappointed.
I ordered my all-time favorite, the Curd Vada, expecting the traditional flavors of ginger, mustard, and fresh coriander. To my surprise, it was served with a North Indian twist, featuring chat masala, grated carrot, and boondi. It was far too sweet for my liking, and it lacked the usual refreshing and savory elements that make Curd Vada special. I expressed my concerns to the hostess, who mentioned she would inform the chef and get back to me, but that follow-up never happened.
The masala dosa was decent, but the accompanying sambar and coconut chutney left much to be desired. They seemed to lack the robust South Indian punch, and the mint chutney didn’t have enough mint flavor to justify its name. The Madras coffee was just okay, nothing remarkable but not bad either.
Overall, this location does not live up to the flavor, aroma, and taste standards of the original Saravanaa Bhavan brand. If you’re looking for an authentic South Indian dining experience, I’d recommend giving this franchise a miss and exploring other options...
Read moreWe had a chance to try the newly opened Saravana Bhavan in Brampton for a Saturday lunch. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the expectations or the brand’s reputation.
We ordered the weekend special thali, masala dosa, mushroom fried rice, coffee, and a blueberry drink. The weekend special thali was disappointing—definitely not worth the price. The curries were overly spicy, and both the sambar and puli kulambu were thin and watery, lacking the authentic flavor we’ve come to expect from Saravana Bhavan.
The masala dosa was another letdown and the chutneys didn’t have the freshness or flavor we’ve enjoyed at other locations (like in India, New Jersey, or Mississauga).
The one bright spot was the mushroom fried rice—it was well-made in Indo-Chinese style and had a nice balance of flavors. We genuinely enjoyed that dish.
Overall, the meal felt overpriced for the quality delivered. It’s disappointing, especially given the hype and the legacy associated with the Saravana Bhavan name. Hope they work on improving the consistency and authenticity of...
