I've been going to this restaurant for a number of years because I always like the greasy spoon vibe. The food was normally decent and the service was not bad however things have slowly been declining over the last couple of years. It's got to the point where the service is so slow coming out of the kitchen that is almost no point in going. I'm normally pretty forgiving but one particular incident just left a bad taste in my mouth. My wife and I stopped by for an early breakfast and the place was busy as usual for a Saturday. I ordered an egg white omelette and sat expecting that it might take a little bit of time given how busy place was. After 40 minutes I was growing a little tired and so I mentioned to the owner can you tell me how much longer my food's gonna take? She snapped back at me that I shouldn't come in here on a Saturday expecting to get quick service. When I suggested that because of timing constraints I would have to cancel my order, all the sudden she runs into the kitchen and slaps together this omelette. I should've taken a picture of it but it looks like she absolutely threw it on the plate and it was a mess as part of it was undercooked. We weren't happy but we decided to pay the bill anyway and at that point she came over and said don't worry about it I took care of it. Don't get me wrong I understand how things can get a little busy but this place just seems to be getting worse and worse and then to get attitude like that from the owner was totally uncalled for. Sadly this place just isn't worth the...
Read moreOur first time here, and we will definitely be back. First impression when you walk in, it smells delicious, looks super clean, and was quite busy!
The server was super kind and considerate! One thing I absolutely loved was that she asked me if it was okay to bring peanut butter to the table! I don't think I've ever been asked this at any restaurant before. Even though our family does not have allergies, we know many people with them, and this should be more standardized!
The food is very well priced and they have a lot of options to choose from. The only con, is that it's Cash only, they do have an ATM on site though.
The food came out and smelled/looked delicious. Unfortunately it didn't quite hit the mark. We had a vegetarian omelette, and while all the flavours were there, the middle was definitely undercooked. We had the Mediterranean eggs Benny and asked for soft to medium eggs, again, the flavours were there but the eggs were cooked hard. The third dish we had was the breakfast poutine with poached eggs on top requested soft, the flavours were there but the eggs were again hard, and the Hollandaise was completely overwhelming. The flavours were good once some of the Hollandaise was removed. The potatoes were well seasoned! Hopefully it's just a newer cook, I know they've had hiring signs up for a while! We will definitely give them another try!
The coffee was flowing and I loved their...
Read moreI ordered a take out breakfast meal this morning. An elderly woman and her presumed granddaughter stood in front of me. The Waitress rudely addressed the elderly woman, and demanded she produce proof of vaccination. The elderly female did so. The waitress then questioned how old the young female was. The young female responded that she was twelve years of age. The waitress then ranted on about twelve year olds should be vaccinated, and subsequently denied them both entry. The elderly lady was visibly distraught, as was the daughter. The waitress continued to be dismissive to the elderly female, and did not appear to show any compassion, or offer a takeout menu. The times we live in are quite strange, but provincial orders aside, please show your clientele and your elders some respect. It is never pleasant to deliver bad news, but it is far worse to receive it in such a condescending manner.
Once the lady and her granddaughter left the foyer, the waitress looked at an elderly couple stood off to the side, and shook her head. To my surprise, the elderly couple shook their heads to. Whatever the intent of this body language may be, it would be wise to say that more self restraint could have been used. Please be considerate of other...
