Lonnies On Market St — Restaurant in Brantford

So the first on Tuesday I ordered 2lbs wings. Drunk Junk. Chicken Cesar wrap and large fruit bowl. We ordered delivery because we have two young kids and we live 5 min drive away from the store. Not only did it take over an hour for the food to get there but the wings and fruit was missing. So I called and let them know and the girl said that they were closed at 2:40 (they close at 3) and I explained I was missing orders and they said sorry we can’t deliver now because we are closed I will put it down in the book and you can get it tomorrow. I called wednesday explained the situation and they told me the girl did not fill out all the information as she should have and they would get back to me tomorrow I said okay and explained again I was missing a large fruit bowl and 2lbs of wings. I called today (Friday) and they said they could credit my phone number although I was previously told they would deliver as they messed up the order I was informed I would have to pay nearly $7 delivery charge for the missing contents of an order that was messed up. So we decided to order lunch as to not waste the credit. We got two drunk junks and what was supposed to be my large fruit bowl and 2lbs of wings from previous order. Again they took over and hour and a half to deliver the order and I called at the 1.5 hr mark mind you we live 5 minute drive away when I called they were surprised the delivery driver was not there and started to talk amongst themselves of how long ago she left. By the time she delivered the food the onion rings were soggy the potato skins were rock hard and dry, the cheese on the fries was coagulated (which should not happen if they were freshly made) as well as the fries were soggy, the mozza sticks were cold and coagulated gravy was cold the fruit bowl looks like they just took a can of fruit and dumped it in a bowl it was slivers of fruit in syrup when I was expecting fresh fruit, missing and extra gravy also instead of getting my origonally ordered and paid for 2 lbs of wings we got 5 wings. "welcome to lonnies" says the redhead. Ordered the taco poutine, opened it after I got to my sitting area and see it has onions. I can't stand onions. Okay, np. Girlfriend goes back to get it switched out, and I get a text saying "come back she's mad at me". When I arrive, I find out that after the staff were told no onions, they made a second one, with chili that had onion chunks in it. The staff made it, and said "btw there's onions in it". Okay. So my gf reminds her that we wanted no onions, and the staff now complains that she had to waste 2 small poutines and that my gf had to pay for a different one. Not okay. That was the staff's mistake and she refused to take accountability. Fast forward to me getting the text and walking back over in a huff after being told the staff are getting mad at my gf who is lives with trauma. After arriving, the staff says "I'm standing my ground, welcome to Lonnie's", and I'm standing there in disbelief that not only would the staff refuse to take accountability, but that she was so brazen in representing the store with such an attitude. After this she refused to make the correct order, so I reminded her that I have given her money and have no food in my hands. The only right thing she did was offer me a refund, to which I gladly accepted. She said if you don't like it don't come here, so which I also gladly accepted. What a shame, I googled cheap food near me because I go to Laurier and Lonnie's seemed like a cool spot with decent priced food. But DAMN were the staff just so confident about being wrong. I've lived in Brantford for 10 years now and used to always enjoy Lonnys and have good experiences, but unfortunately that is no longer the case. I'm not sure if it's new management or just changing ingredients to cut costs to keep prices low, but the place has taken a major dive in quality. Their bacon is absolute trash and that used to be a big selling point for me and the people I know. Its rock hard or just giant chunks of fat now. Extremely disappointing when you take a bite of poutine and think you are getting bacon, but it's a huge, nasty chunk of fat. Even in their ceaser wraps it's bad and can throw off the whole wrap. I ordered from them tonight and remembered their burgers being amazing years ago, well what I got tonight was disgusting. I ordered it with lettuce and tomato, didn't get either of those toppings but a second patty? And BOTH patties were a very gross consistency, most likely undercooked. It was the consistency of cat food or tuna. Like absolutely disgusting. Especially for being $6.99. One thing that is still good and I hope will always be good is their fries. The fries never disappoint, but from now on...if I'm ordering from lonnys it's just their fries...not chancing anything else from their menu.
