We tried this restaurant as it was close to our destination and were completely surprised by the high quality and delicious dishes. We tried the chili oil wontons, which were Sichuan style- lots of flavor, great heat, and fresh made wontons. Fiona, our server and cook, told us it was her mother’s recipe and we could taste the love. We also tried the green beans, which were fresh and full and flavor cooked with lots of garlic; the honey walnut prawns, a great price for the amount of prawns; onion pancakes which were flavorful and not oily; xiao long bao which were delicious pork soup dumplings and some of the best I’ve had, especially with some of the chili oil; and chicken stir fry noodle which was a huge dish with plenty of leftovers. The price point was great, the food was very fresh and flavorful, and service was extremely kind and pleasant. Highly...
Read moreThe food, it arrived lukewarm. I ordered the Dinner for Two and a side of boneless honey garlic pork. The pork sides were off-coloured, soggy, and had an odd taste. The chowmein was bland. The beef with mixed veg was almost inedible: veggies were raw and the beef had a really off aftertaste. The food tasted and looked like it was a few days old, at best.
I ordered online through their website (Zomi?) and realised afterwards it's affiliated with Doordash. The additional charges on my bill chapped my a** (Delivery Fee @$2.99, Maintenance Fee @$3.31, Package Fee @$0.26). Just sharing this as the fees were not shown up front when ordering.
I am disappointed and perplexed by the seemingly solid reviews. For context, I ordered on a Saturday night at around 6:45pm, so not too early and far from last orders. My total bill with fees and tip...
Read moreThe best Chinese food I have had in New West in 20 years trying many places. The dinner for two was a little cheaper than other restaurants and had huge portions. It included extra items of wonton soup plus 2 free spring rolls so 4 spring rolls. No other Chinese food restaurant has 5 items in their dinner for 2 nevermind 2 free spring rolls. This made this a dinner for 4. Three of us ate as much as we could and their is still lots left over. They were here a minute earlier than they said so 29 min instead of 30 to 45. The vegetable were steamed properly, fresh and not overcooked. The sweet and sour pineapple pork was not fatty but actual meat. The only thing I did not like was the duck sauce they sent instead of plum sauce for the spring rolls. First time I tried it. Kind of tangy but I had plum sauce at home. I...
