Thought we'd try this place again after a couple of years. We went on a Friday at 5.30pm. Was very busy! People were having fun, lots of customers knew each other. A little too loud for my liking. Definitely had a neighborhood pub vibe. They had meat draws and 50/50 raffles going. We won a pot roast! They have a great 2 for 1 deal during happy hour (from 2 to 6pm), but wings are not included on that deal. Our bill for four drinks and four appies was $55, plus tip, thanks to happy hour. Our servers were very friendly. The tables were spaced and people wore masks, but some areas were dense and seemed like Covid breeding grounds. There was a pool table in the middle with people playing with it. I did not see hand sanitizer available, nor did I see sanitizing of tables and chairs after use. We ordered Mexican Sunsets (half cranberry juice/half grapefruit + 1 shot of tequila. I like mine tall with lots of ice) and they were watery. The juice was not flavourful. We are gluten and dairy free (but don't usually react to cross contamination from fryers), FODMAP and histamine sensitive. Couldn't have the wings because they are breaded. Went with the dry ribs and sweet potato fries with honey mustard to dip. Randy was flushed and stuffed up within 5 minutes of eating, so something in the food triggered his histamine sensitivity. I felt okay, but by morning had a very upset stomach. We were not able to identify what were the triggers. Best to avoid this place if you have food sensitivities or prefer a quiet environment. Otherwise, it's a great...

The Thirsty Duck Pub, locally known as the duck, is a pub style restaurant located within a 2 storey commercial plaza located in New Westminster, BC.

There was a dedicated parking lot located on the west side of the building, along with plenty of street parking available. The business can also be easily accessed via public transit, with 3 bus stop routes within 1 block for buses: 112, 101, and 155.

Visited during on a Sunday, we attended in conjuction with "New West Bar Bingo" a summer event typically during the months of July and August where local pubs fill in bingo cards for our visit. This review is independent of this event.

My server was Sanya who was attentive, provided the menus, and knowledgeable of my inquiries related to specials and food items. The included photos are of the 2 piece fish and chips and Molson Canadian draft. We have also included the specials for Sunday and the specials for the other days.

There were other activities available within the pub: golf, pull tab, pool. We did not partake in these and are not...

The food you could tell was out of a frozen box not freshly made and then put in a deep fryer which you could also tell the oil hadn't been changed in awhile. The group of us ordered nachos twice and both times were burned. We all agreed no matter what you ordered it taste like crap and greasy. There was also a waitress there when we came in she was extremely pushy and impatient when we were ordering even though the place was so dead just a few local drunks at bar. Not ten minutes in the pub and the same waitress also physically pushed a local drunk in pub out the doors while yelling and swearing. This same and only waitress working was waaaaay too friendly with me. I am a young female and she made me feel very uncomfortable twice with physically touching me inappropriately on my leg wwhile standing and my shoulder while sitting. The same waitress when a male asked for something from our group of 6-8 would ignore them. This was my worst experience at any pub I have ever been in. I strongly don't recommend it and I will...

Don’t judge a book by its cover folks! We came to this restaurant after hearing about it on social media. To begin, it looked like a hole in the wall, there was almost nobody in there, the tables were all sticky, the menu was overwhelmingly large with little description, and it in general didn’t look like the place was well kept. Red flags all around, however the server was quick to greet us & help us out. When the food came, we were pleasantly surprised! The meal was hot & fresh. The fries were excellent & very large, and all the food (Fish Burger, Beef Dip, and Honey Garlic Wings) was an 8/10 across the board. I was very happy that the food was good, considering everything else. I think I would like to return to try another item on the menu!

I came in for Wing Wednesday and was really impressed with the initial service. The staff was super friendly, quick to seat us, and got our orders in right away. The wings themselves were solid—crispy, flavorful, and a great deal for the price. Definitely a fun mid-week treat. That said, once our food was out, it felt like the follow-up kind of disappeared. We would’ve appreciated someone checking in to see if we needed drink refills or maybe wanted to order another round of wings. It wasn’t a huge deal, but that extra touch would’ve taken the experience to the next level. Overall, it’s a great spot with tasty wings and a welcoming vibe—just hoping next time the service stays consistent from start to finish. 10/10 recommend 👌
