False advertising, rude service, managerial lies, and all around incompetence with this store. I arrived at the drive through for my usual teen burger order - which I get on sale or not. The staff know me by my order. The deal on the large lit up sign says Teen Burger $4.99. Super!! I order my meal. I get my meal. I over pay for my meal. Then I ask about the wrong bill. The lady said “It starts at Midnight, it is only 11:05pm”. I rightfully stated that if the sign is up the deal is on. She disagreed. I returned my food for a refund. Not due to the money but the PRINCIPAL. Called the manager Gomzy the next day. Nice fellow. Gave me a deal for my inconvenience and stated he had educated the staff so in the future this wouldn’t happen. Cool. All good. Went in to get my deal. Manager Gomzy is not there, which is ok, because he said he put my name and phone number in the Manager’s Book. When I arrived a very nice man Prabh, took my order and proceeded to make my food. No issue, as he knew me from my order, as mentioned before. Then a large woman asked if I had paid. She then took it upon herself to instruct the staff to stop making my food as I saw it being put together. She demanded Prabh show her the managers book. She was very upset about something that seemed to be not in her perview, but inserted herself into it. Prabh (not her) explained that he wasn’t able to continue.
I told him that this is the second time I am leaving empty handed. That I am made to feel like I came in to steal food - having to wish to pay for it as I was instructed by Manager Gomzy.
It later came out that this large woman was on shift the day I returned my order as it was their mistake (confirmed by Manager Gomzy). She was still for some odd reason, taking this personally.
I came a THIRD time to talk to Gomzy and let him know what insulting behavior I have endured and he could contact me to have a conversation about retaining me as a customer and not trash this restaurant. He did not choose to keep me as a customer.
I hope that this was a lone incident and the owners are ok with this. I would look a bit deeper if my investment was tied to this. Head office should also be looking at this as I will not stop trashing A&W after this experience.

Read moreI ordered a cold brew and it tasted rotten. So disgusting! I think they didn't wash the coffee filter or kept it way too long in the machine so it got a lot of germs. I told the staff who was wearing a black glasses that I wanted to get something else instead of the cold brew because it got rotten and was not able to drink it. She then told me to order cold brew sweet cream instead! Hello? I had to explain to her the same things again and told her to get an iced tea (cheap pop) instead. She tried to charge me and demanded me to pay in full and blamed me for why I ordered the regular cold brew although she asked me if I ordered flavored one. It didn’t make any sense what she said. I told her that I just sipped it once and spitted it out, and returned the rotten drink back and asked her to replace it to cheaper drink so why should I have to pay again? She was unprofessional and rude so I tried to make my review and contact the company. But she didn't give me a receipt, didn't have a name tag so I asked her name but she refused. I spoke with the manager and finally she offered me a different drink.
While we were eating, there was a female customer with a possible mental illness and she bothered us, she harassed and touched my child and me even though I told her to stop. I told her to leave us alone and finally she left but then the same rude staff member was watching and smirked at me. What’s wrong with her? We sometimes go to another branch near 12th street, but never have a problem like this and never seen such a nasty staff member like her. She should be fired immediately. Read moreWe love this place and we have been to this restaurant regularly for over two years since we moved to this community. However, two bad experiences happened to us with a young male manager on shift in this September. The shift he is on is a mess and this shift manager is very argumentative. First time was the Saturday two weeks ago in the morning, we were in a rush and ordered breakfast sandwiches with English Muffin. We were told the English Muffin was still frozen and we need to wait for additional 10mins. We agreed to switch to the regular buns which do not require that long. After 5 mins, we were like where is our take out? He was like I told you guys it's taking longer, I told him back said we agreed with regular buns. After 20 mins, we finally got our order with regular buns which should not have us waited that long. Similar mess happened this morning, our order is one all Canadian with coffee, one 3 piece pancakes combo plus one egg, all eggs were asked for over hard. The girl delivered my egg separately and took the number. Rest of our order was delivered to a different table who came after us. When I checked with this male shift manager, he was insisting our order is not ready and the food was not delivered incorrectly. For what kind of coincidence that the order can be exactly the same for two different ones. I have asked money back and walked out with the empty stomach.
