Every week we have one meal that is our 'cheat' as we are both trying to lose the baby weight. It was my turn to choose and I couldn't get into anything all day. We even considered just eating at home! Then we remembered when our baby was born, our church sent us food. One night it was a Boston Pizza delivery. It was INCREDIBLE! We NEVER eat pasta and it was a dinner of noodly, saucy, cheesy goodness! It was decided. Boston Pizza for our yummy dinner! We were so excited!
The staff who greeted us was lovely. But the restaurant was basically empty - on a late Saturday afternoon with UFC already playing. We ordered the baked lasagna and a Cesar salad. Ready in 10 mins, how can you go wrong, this night is getting better and better.
Finished our shopping and sat down for a family picnic on the livingroom carpet. Our lasagna was literally noodles tossed in a meat sauce. There are no sauce in the container. There was next to no cheese and the container was barely half full. The salad was in a large container but it too was barely half full. This was NOTHING like our previous experience.
I decided to call the store because it was our special meal and it was prepared awfully. I was put on hold for the manager. When he got on the phone I explained the situation and before I could finish, he went on and on about the Boston Pizza procedures and that the meal goes through three people before it's given to us. I told him, I will bring the item back and show it to him. He declined. He said people don't like sauce and cheese so when I order baked lasagna I need to specifically state I want sauce and cheese on the side. I said I'll bring the meal back if he will make us a normal baked lasagna (I didn't bother to bring up the salad) he agreed and hung up.
Drove over the bridge to get the item. I didn't get to speak to the manager. The greeter walked the bag out to me. She was lovely! I get home and it's basically the exact same thing except cheese melted on top - at least there was that! Oh and a small, maybe half cup, of sauce... on the side.
Long story short - my wife is making us dinner. I could have made a killer lasagna myself with the money I spent at Boston Pizza. Not including the fuel driving back and forth over the bridge TWICE.
Needless to say, never. Again. Two stars is for the greeter staff and at least he replaced the meal...even if it was exactly the same as the one we...
Read moreI recently had the misfortune of dining at Boston Pizza with a group of 17 people, and the experience was nothing short of a disaster.
First and foremost, the wait times for our food were utterly unacceptable. Despite having made advanced reservations, we found ourselves waiting for quite some time before our orders were even taken. And once the orders were finally placed, the wait for the food itself felt like an eternity. We were told that there was only one person in the kitchen that night, which they claimed was the reason for the snail's pace service. This excuse is nothing short of absurd. A restaurant of Boston Pizza's supposed caliber should be adequately staffed to handle a large party, especially when they were given ample time to prepare.
The ordeal only worsened when the food finally arrived. Not only were some of the pasta dishes missing key ingredients (Italian sausage) and bacon being absent from the burgers, but to add insult to injury, some of the pasta was actually luke-warm at best. It's mind-boggling to think that a restaurant can mess up such basic orders. And let's not forget the cherry on top: the forced gratuity of 18%, regardless of the terrible service we received. This was salt in the wound, as the service didn't even come close to warranting any kind of gratuity.
To make matters worse, the server's response to our complaints was lackluster at best. When we pointed out the missing ingredients, we had to ask repeatedly before they grudgingly brought them out on separate dishes, as if that somehow rectified the situation. This approach not only ruined the presentation of the dishes but also made the overall dining experience incredibly unpleasant.
It's evident that Boston Pizza failed on multiple fronts during our visit. From the lack of staff preparation despite advanced reservations to the missing ingredients and the overall subpar service, this was an experience I wouldn't ever want to experience again. I urge anyone considering dining at this establishment to think twice, as you might just be setting yourself up for a night of frustration, disappointment, and regret. Save your time, money, and sanity by choosing a different...
Read moreI went back and forth on the stars because I feel like it was somewhat my fault? I went here today for lunch, and ordered a sandwich off their feature menu and specifically asked if it could be gluten free. The server said they could swap the bun, I said great. He then asked me what sides and mentioned fries, but when I looked at their gluten free side list, fries weren't on there. So I pointed to the menu where it said that and he said right. So I ordered the Ceasar salad, gluten free. He comes back awhile later with my order, and there are croutons on my salad. So I asked if they were gluten free, he said they should be. I waited a bit and heard him go to the back (we were right by the kitchen), and then he came back out apologizing saying it wasn't gluten free and took it back to sort it out. He then came back with a fresh salad, no croutons, and the sandwich on a separate plate this time. But then I looked at my sandwich and instead of a grilled chicken breast it was coated in something. So he came back again and I asked if it was gluten free. He said he thought so, and my friend piped up at this point and says she had an actual gluten allergy. So he said give me a minute and then went to check again. The kitchen had no idea if it was gluten free. So they had to remake the sandwich with a different chicken they had on hand, the grilled one. Now, as I'm laying around sick, im pretty confident there was gluten somewhere in the recipe. Maybe in the sauce, I don't know. I should have just gone for one of the menu items that were said to be gluten friendly. But I also know they dont always put it on the feature menu, and I wanted to try something new. I dont really blame the staff, but I just wish he had said I cant be sure so its up to you, or something like that. Don't tell me it can be gluten free when you aren't sure. The bun was delicious though, i have to say. It was a pretty good...
