Bulk Barn — Restaurant in British Columbia

I drive over 35 minutes to go to this store. I LOVE everything I can buy there! I have been there over 10 times.

However, every time I have gone there the staff is incredibly rude to their customers. The one time the cashier closed her till before giving the customer change. She was the only cashier open. The manager was outside in his car. She did not take anymore customers. She did not call anyone else to the front to take the rest of us in line. She did not leave the till to go get the manager in his car. She just stood there yelling through the glass and waving her hands trying to get the manager who was parked on the other side of the parking lot. It was SO painful to watch. This went on for OVER 5 minutes...Finally I said to her, how about I just go get there manager because yelling at him from inside is not going to do anything.

I was surprised at how clean everything was compared to how the average bulk section at any grocery store looks. Amazingly huge selection of everything you could possibly need, including lots of different Candy, which is what I was there for. There was multiple people cleaning while I was there, vacuuming and wiping things down, it felt very clean and safe. I will be going back again very soon and recommending family and friends! PS, I recommend trying the "Chocolate Covered Sunflower Seeds"(Xmas time only), they are dangerously delicious.

Edit: Turns out the Chocolate Covered Sunflower Seeds are n Xmas holiday item only unfortunately... could have sold just me alone another $120 of seeds that I ordered on amazon because you guys havent had them... I'd...

Really love the fact I can shop zero waste here without having to go all the way to Vancouver, and bring my own containers to fill. I purchased a small amount of dark cocoa for a recipe instead of having to buy a big bag of it from a grocery store. It was great! I did however find some of the chocolates I purchased to not be as fresh as I would like. I guess it is difficult to keep things fresh if they are not purchased regularly... although it's a tough call - getting rid of sub-fresh food and wasting it, in order to stock fresher ingredients to encourage more people to purchase at Bulk Barn waste-free... or trying to use up as much edible food as possible (it is edible after all) and waste less... Either way, I'm very glad this is an option in the...
