White Spot Duncan — Restaurant in British Columbia

EDIT- A supervisor got a hold of me after I complained to the head office. She apologized for my experience. She was really kind and gave us a gift certificate. Apparently the manager is new and doesn't know how to run things yet.

Today my fiancé, mother in-law and I, ate lunch at the White Spot at the Duncan establishment. The waitress was unfriendly, rude, and extremely unprofessional. She made taking our order seem like a burden. When we asked for more "endless fries" to our halibut and chip meal, she asked if my mother in-law was going to finish hers, implying that we should finish her fries first, even though we had both ordered the meal with "endless fries." When we went to pay, the waitress was very rude towards my mother in-law wanting to use a different card, as the one she was using wasn't working. I spoke to the manager after we had paid, he completely excused her behavior said "he had never heard anyone say anything negative about her before." As if only one person complaining means she's not like that? While I was speaking to him, she came up and interrupted our private conversation, which made it incredibly awkward for me to continue letting him know of my horrible experience. Having worked in the hospitality industry and having a family with an extensive background in hospitality, I am appalled at how unprofessionally the situation...

I have never written a negative review before. On January 30 I went for lunch at this white spot. It was not busy but it took a long time to get lunch. I was in no hurry so didn't worry. I ordered my old favorite burger. I noticed right away that the bun was over cooked and dark and had light black burning on the edges. I didn't have time to wait again for a new one. So I took off the bun and used my knife and fork. The bacon was so hard you couldn't cut it and it crunched hard to eat and the burger was actually completely over cooked and dry and had burn on the edges. Oddly considering the burn situation I was surprised that it was not even warm, more room temperature. It was the worst burger I've ever had. We live on a small gulf island and had to get going, so couldn't really deal with it. As I was leaving I saw a waiter carrying food to a table and saw a burger with the exact same dark over cooked bun. My feeling is that the buns, meat and bacon had to be sitting in an oven to keep warm maybe, and allowed to burn, and then had been removed due to the overcooking.

Went here a couple weeks ago after realizing they had finally reopened from burning down. Figured why not i used to love the old white spot. I'll start by saying the redone place looks quite nice, very open, the only down side appearance wise was the door to the kitchen which makes a weird loud noise every time its used and being at a table close to said door did not help. The waitress who took our order was quite friendly but not overly helpful. The dinner service was an ordeal, my girlfriend had ordered a martini which she waited 25 minutes only to be told they didn't have the ingredients for it, could have informed us sooner. after 35 minutes i was beginning to wonder where my appetizers were as i saw the customers beside us who came in 5 or so minutes after us receiving all their food. Finally our appetizers arrive and right as I start to dig in to my pre dinner snack my entree comes out... not cool. So now i have to try and eat my appetizer as fast as i can so my actual dinner doesn't get cold, to which it did. Not pleased with the quality of service. i may come back but it wont be for...
