Giving it a 1 due to the abysmal service provided by one of the waiters. We’ve been coming here for years but I don’t plan on returning anytime soon. The food is pretty good, but if your service is bad then it’s not worth coming back. When we arrived, the waiter said we only had two hours to eat our food and to say this only 10 minutes after we first arrived was the first sign something was off with this guy. Another waiter ended up taking our orders and he was diligent and diplomatic. The initial waiter then came back a few times throughout the evening, and we got the sense he wanted to rush us so we would just eat and leave. When speaking to us he was rude and snarky. When we gave the coupon for a discount, he made a big deal about it saying we should have given it to him at the beginning. When it was dessert time, he only gave three people in our party who ordered coffee a half cup of coffee and never came back to give us the full amount. When I spoke to the other waiter who actually took our orders I described in detail how the other waiter was rude and didn’t provide good customer service. He verbally agreed with me but didn’t want to say more because it would risk his job. The rude waiter was apparently a manager in the past but no longer is. The waiter is lucky I wasn’t paying this evening because I would not have given any tip. When speaking to a family member after this experience who has been to this Barbies restaurant in the past, she confirmed that she too had a bad experience with this waiter. I am sure there are others who have as well. All this to say is that if your restaurant intends to keep its customers you should keep a closer eye on who you is representing your...
Read moreThe meal was good and the prices are reasonable. However the service has noticeably worsened. I hope it is the exception, not the norm. The waiter seemed tired and annoyed, speaking in half sentences and never bothering to explain anything. He then spilled an alcoholic cocktail on a child. While apologetic, he quickly ignored the situation, not helping clean her clothes or the floor which now had a sticky puddle. We had to ask someone else to help us. Any trash we had was left uncleaned on the side of the table. Finally, the waiter refused to apply the brochure discount to us because "we had brought it up too late." Apparently we were supposed to tell him at the beginning of the meal, and telling the receptionist was not enough? I will say that after some pushback, he did relent, citing that it was company policy. If that is the case, then I implore Barbies to reevaluate their policies. Also they forgot to give us the dessert that came included with the kid's meal. Though I will say we forgot as well until we walked out so it may not be entirely fair. Frankly I am left very torn by this visit. On one hand, the nostalgia of my youth with this restaurant and the value of my delicious meal leave me wanting to leave a positive note. On the other hand, the terribly negligent and dismissive customer service compel me to leave a scathing review. If things improve on my next visit, I will adjust my review accordingly because I truly do like...
Read moreWelcoming and friendly service. The food was decent and the prices weren't too bad. Around 15$ a person for a plate that is big enough to fill you up. (3 years ago)
I still remember when they were offering 22$ for two meals. It's a bit disheartening to see that it has now reached 35$ for 2 meals instead. Even though the prices have increased, their portion remains almost the same which makes the prices still competitive to some other restaurants. The portions are huge which makes the prices reasonable. I really enjoy their sauces, especially their peppercorn sauce for the steak and their BBQ sauce for their ribs. The sauces are so full of flavours that complement the meats very well, making the overall meal so much more enjoyable. However, I did not enjoy the amount of chocolate they add to their tiramisu. It made the whole dessert overall too sweet for me. And also, for some reason, my steak was overcooked but I was the only one who had the problem at our table. The quality of service has certainly decreased over the years. The waiters are all respectful but not pleasant to talk to. They don't seem friendly at all and they are a bit impatient at times. It also still takes quite a bit of time before we are served, so please keep that in mind. I would say around 20 minutes before someone came to take our orders and another 25-30 minutes before the...
