My friend and I recently had lunch at Pizzeria Sofia at Dix 30 in Brossard, Quebec. We were seated at a decent table, even though the restaurant was busy, and we did not have reservations. As a starters, we shared an order of the fried calamari and shrimp which we well prepared and tasted fresh. The spicy mayonnaise that accompanied this dish was particularly tasty. For dishes, my friend ordered a spinach pizza and I ordered the gnocchi with black pepper. Unfortunately, our meals were served when my friend was in the washroom. In my opinion, in these cases, restaurant staff should return these dishes and wait until the table is fully occupied. The spinach pizza turned out to be very good and the gnocchi was actually excellent, particularly due to the pepper seasoning, which is not something I normally order. Unfortunately, our waitress never brought the bill to our table (my friend had left to run to a meeting by that time) and so I had to go up to the bar to retrieve it. Our waitress was standing there and she did not apologize or give a reason why I had to track down my bill myself. The Bluetooth payment device at Pizzeria Sofia is set to add tips, starting at 18% in increments all the way up to 30%, which I found completely inappropriate. (I did not see a function on the device where I could add my desired tip percentage). I have heard all the arguments about the cost of inflation, the financial effects of the pandemic, the fact that service people live off tips, etc. but it NOT APPROPRIATE to force tipping starting at 18%. The service we received did not merit anything close to 18%. I would suggest giving this restaurant a pass, it is already considered to be pricey and its tipping policy is out to lunch. There are lots of other...

*I wish I was able to give more than 5 stars * The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great, the restaurant's ambiance is amazing. The wait time between meals is perfect and not rushed. The service is first-class **.

Three to four weeks ago, my boyfriend and I went to Sofia's to sit on the terrace. We sat on the terrace upstairs. The scenery, the atmosphere was spectacular. We had a waiter named Pavel-- his service was OUTSTANDING. There are no amount of words that can describe his service. He was polite, charming, helpful and so incredibly honest. I asked for my meal to go because I could not finish it and he added several spicy oil containers and added it to my pizza box. I was so touched by this because he did this without asking me, as I mentioned briefly that I love their spicy oil.

Last night, I went to Sofia's with my boyfriend. We unfortunately did not get to sit in Pavel's section, which was a bummer. However, he did see us and came to chat with us a little bit. At the end of our meal, we receive a lava cake. I told the bus boy that neither my boyfriend and I did not order this. He told me he had the right table, I advised him he didn't and he needs to take it back. Our waitress comes out running with the Lava Cake dessert and advised this dessert is for us and it...

STOP poisoning people with SALT!!! I went 2 times at this resto. First time I order a pizza with porsciuto. My god, extremly salty!!! Terrible salty. I thought is the prosciuto very salty and I gave a second chance the following week. Second order, 2 pizzas : quatro fromagi and Diabola. Same like first time, even more saltier. My wife got sick after first slice. To much salt. And GUESS WHAT? we need some water, obviously, we craved for a glass of water after eating couple of slices of pizza. And there is no tap water!!! Only fk very expensive evian water. This is super trick... extremly salty food, and very expensive water. I am sure 100% they do it on purpose. I made a complain to the waitress about the very salty pizza, making it not eatable and she suddenly, with no questions, she offer to take off a pizza from the final bill... its very clear that all the stuff knows well what is going on with this "salty" trick and they don't react in any way. The apetiser I got, fried calamari (frito misto) is the same, extremly salty. And I am not a picky guy, but their food is poisoning you with salt. Imagine people with high blood presure? Just spare your body/heart and don't go there to swallow that salt, just because is nice confy resto. I would give MINUS 10 stars for this SALINE. ...

Love this place! Super nice loft-style feel, with high ceilings, white brick walls painted with funky art and decor. Two massive wood ovens in plain view where you can also see folks hard at work making the pizzas. Appetizers are great - especially the calamari and octopus. The pizzas - the Calabrese is our fam’s fave - but there’s plenty of selection. Recently tried their seafood pizza that had loads of calamari, shrimp and mussels (yum!). The thin dough/crust and fresh ingredients make all the difference and Sofia’s pizzas are some of the closest to eating pizza in Italy I’ve come across. A few cons: Slightly pricey for pizza, but since it’s so good, honestly don’t mind the price. Service can be iffy sometimes. Had both extremely pleasant and attentive servers, and ones that were a tad too slow and failed to follow up on the table. It can get quite loud around dinner time. The noise of everyone talking competing over the music playing makes it hard to have a conversation without semi-yelling. Accessibility: washrooms are on the second floor (not quite sure if there is a hidden one on the main floor somewhere). All in all, it’s still my first pick for pizza and remains one of our go-to spots on the south shore!

Who? Pizzeria Sofia What? Italian restaurant Why? Pizzeria Sofia will definitely satisfy your Italian cravings. From pasta to pizza, this place has it all! We were there on a Friday night and the place was packed, so definitely reserve before going. We ordered aperol spritz which was mostly ice(15$), fritto misto (fried calamari and shrimps), tortellini rosée and pizza burrata. The plates are definitely not cheap, but the quality was there! The best plate was the tortellini rosée, the sauce was exquisite. One of the biggest issue with this place is how slow the service was (about 80 minutes to get our plate). Also, they do not offer tap water, you have to pay for an Eska bottle (5$) which is pretty ridiculous considering water is free everywhere else. Price: around 50$/person
