First of all, the tea is good and I will probably say it is the best in Brossard.
The issue I have with Shuyi is the Birthday free drink.
My sister's bday was last Nov, when she went there to claim her free drink, the cashier said they only have the Black Friday special for this week, so they say the birthday free drink for this week is not applicable. Ok. Fair enough. No free drink to be claimed because coinciding with another promotion... hmm...
Then, This week (March 2021), it is my turn to claim my free drink.
So in the Shuyi app, you have the "PROMO" icon where it says "As a gift, come in for Birthday Free Drink". So I clicked on it, nothing happened. I say ok, maybe I needed to physically come in to the store to order the drink.
Then by the time I got to the store, I showed it to the cashier, she said that I have to order online to claim the free drink... (then of cuz, I have to try to order online in front of her, with a HUGE lineup behind me). I showed her clearly the offer is not clickable. & we also tried in the "Rewards" icon, where it was clearly not clickable as well.
Clearly frustrated, she had no idea if I have to order it physically in store or online. I asked her if I am the ONLY person who ever come in to claim the bday free drink, she didn't answer. But ON TOP OF THAT, she told me I don't have a drink choice, I can only get a "fixed" drink that they give out (I don't recall the drink's name).
So, at that point, I guess I can just get whatever drink they give me. That is fine. But the weird thing is, she kept telling me i have to order online (where I showed her I can't), and she can't do it on her cash register. Finally one of her colleague came over and somehow fix it for me. Honestly I don't even know what was done. And if the next person comes in for the same thing, I dont' know if they can claim their bday free drink either.
Seriously, if you don't intend to give out a free birthday drink, just don't do the freaking promotion. It is OK not to do the promotion, no one will blame you for that. But stop saying we get free birthday drink and make us jumping through hoops to get it. At this point I rather not have it.
You should be grateful the non-existant competition environment that is in Brossard right...
Read moreThe bubble tea tastes great, so I was willing to not care about the wait... Which was bad enough to make us turn around a couple times from the lineup. If you're not ordering online for pickup I wouldn't even bother with the lineup. The Montreal location is SO much faster. But today. Brossard is just recently under a water boil advisory due to ecoli contamination. I asked if the ice was filtered... which they didn't know if it was but they assured me the tea is boiled. So I asked if they could either remake my one ice heavy drink (grapefruit yakult) without ice or if I could exchange for a hot drink to be on the safe side. They just flat out refused and told me I would have to pay for the new drink. I figured if I paid over $7 for a drink they could exchange it due to an extraordinary circumstance like ecoli contamination in the city's tap water. The store was even completely empty and the drink wasn't even open. I get drinks despite the wait at least once a week and I've bought dozens of drinks from this store the last year so this is such a disappointment for me. Thanks Shuyi, I'm never going to your stores again because the Brossard location. Terrible...
Read moreI ordered a grape bubble tea and received it in a cup meant for hot drinks, so you can’t even see what’s inside. The more I drank, the more I doubted I had actually received what I ordered. I eventually tore the seal open to check, and what did I find? Almost nothing inside. For $9.15 with tax, all I got was basically jasmine tea with a few tapioca pearls. Do you really think that’s worth the price?
And this isn’t the first time it has happened at this location. Usually, they serve drinks with very poor portions of the listed ingredients, but this time it was beyond ridiculous. After multiple visits, I honestly believe the owner of this location is not honest, and is training employees to do the same.
These days, prices have gone up everywhere, but paying almost $10 for what is essentially flavored water with a bit of garnish is...
