Hands down the worst veggie sub I've ever had.

First of all, it was my first time at firehouse, so it may have been my fault for being unfamiliar with their process, but I also don't think it's fair to assume that anyone walking in knows that the process is different than every other sub place. I ordered the Build Your Own Veggie, but at no point was I asked what I wanted on it, or was I even told what was on it. The displayed menu doesn't specify any of the ingredients, and given that it's called Build Your Own, I assumed I would be asked. Instead, a few minutes later the employee making the subs just handed it to me. I walked out having no idea what was on my sub. To add to that, all the ingredients are hidden behind the counter, so I couldn't even see what might be fresh and what might not be.

As for the actual sub - completely disgusting. There was more cheese than veggies (on a veggie sub). There was enough onion for 5 subs. Not to mention, had I known it was white onion (like if it was written on the menu or if I had been asked what I wanted on it), I would have passed on it. The sauce they use is mayo, which again, had I know I would have passed on it. Why is the default sauce on a veggie sub not sub sauce? Once I peeled away the barf-inducing amount of cheese and onion, all that was left was mayo soaked tomato and lettuce (where is the cucumber, olives, literally any veggies that aren't just lettuce and tomato? again, on a veggie sub). There was also some green pepper, but for some reason it was melted into the pound of cheese that I had to peel off to even be able to stomach the sub.

Overall, incredibly disappointed, and frankly,...

I would like to start with the best review i posted 2 years ago, and ending up with the worst quality i had from firehouse sub yesterday. you can see the pictures to have an idea about the food quality they served us this time. I have been visiting this place from last two years, the best veggie sub they had always served. But i regret for my visit yesterday when they served us with extra loaded sub which was totally messed up and the bread was broken as it was so soggy and you can see how much water there was in the sub.. couldn't even hold it in my hand to eat it.. i felt like i was eating bread and veggies dipped in water and no taste at all. Can't believe their staff is so untrained now that they don't even have an idea that the veggies should be inside the sub not under it. And they didn't even bother toasting the bread at all. It was just raw. It was all new staff this time and they were just having fun talking to each other and throwing the stuff in a box for us. Never ever want to go back. Disgusting food service i had. I used to love this place and ended up not even going to recommend it to anybody. Very sad they lost us. Please, you all should watch for the worst reviews as well, to...

First ever visit , at Appleby Crossing Burlington location.

Good quality overall, fully presented sandwich. Plenty of meat but can’t see the composition taking place, so can’t ask for extra stuff (ie. this or that veggie, sauce) during the process. Lots of choice for toppings initially but would be nice to watch the build, as in Subway or Mr. Sub, etc. The side pickle slice is awesome!

Likewise, nobody asked if I wanted a toasted bun. Maybe it was part of my sub choice (that it comes toasted) but I didn’t see it. Loved the biodegradable box packaging, makes it easy to handle on the go.

Nice, clean store that is well staffed, so not a long wait. The only “complaint” if that is fair to say, they are overpriced. IMHO. Can’t justify $12 for a sub. Likewise, a large fountain drink is $3.09??!!!!

Maybe it’s not surprising that you can’t find the prices online before you place an order(?). Overall rating I would give is more accurately 3.5 * but giving them benefit of doubt....

This franchise today was VERY understaffed... management should be ashamed of themselves as it affects employee morale and customer service. At one point, there was only one guy working cuz the other was on break. I felt bad for the 2 on shift. Feb 26, 2024 - Update. We have found another Firehouse subs in the city that are more customer oriented. Brant Street and North Service road have better service and get the order right and we're not waiting when we pre-order something to be picked up at a specific time. The Brand Street franchise seems to be family run and even though it's a bit more out of our way, it's worth the drive!
