I was in Burlington ON between appointments and had a couple of hours to kill before I needed to head out to Hamilton for my next stop. As it was into the lunch hour I decided to grab a McCafe on my way, but checking my app, tho't hmmm... I think I'll give that Big Arch a shot.
Well, Big it is! I got through half and was already feeling full, but carried on. It's a guy thing, right. The burger was tasty, and a tad sloppy from the sauces. I would have rather had the burger juicy from the double patties, but nope... they were a bit on the dry side. Still, it was a fulfilling meal, just the burger by itself. Didn't need to make it a meal.
If I was to order the Big Arch, I'd split it with someone, or take it home and make two meals out of this $10 burger.
I went through drive through and staff was very friendly, but it wasn't until I stopped later that I found that there were...NO napkins in the bag. Grrr. Why do they keep doing that? Unless you check before you leave the window, it's hit-or-miss whether you get anything else. Luckily, I did have a napkin in the glove box to wipe my sticky hands. (sigh)
Coffee is still the best here :-)
To my surprise, when I got home and was cleaning the garbage out if the car, I picked up the McDonald's bag to throw some other garbage in a low & behold, to the side of the bag was ... two napkins!!! Oh, crumbs.... sorry McD... I missed that when I reached to the bottom of the bag and found nuthin'.

Coming to the drive-thru, Adam was quick to take my order and was fun, jovial, welcoming, and made it almost seem like they were taking an order at a high-end steakhouse. Not a hint of anything negative, just pure energy to do their job to the best of their abilities and make sure your day was improved through their simple yet powerful interaction. Couldn't help but feel like a VIP - which is super cool for going through a drive-thru at 10 PM. Their amazing attitude and work ethic should certainly be recognized.
Kanar was on the payment window and, with their amazing mustache, was cheerful and ready to chat. They seemed rather busy and the lineup wasn't moving too fast in the drive-thru lane so we chatted for a few moments. Super cool individual, very interested in the customer they were serving and made us laugh a few times, all while complimenting his crew for their awesome work ethic and the great environment he is a part of. Takes a special someone to get compliments and instantly credit the team who makes it possible. Even more impressive to find out it was only their second week working for the company!
All around, fantastic experience with these two, and their great energy was infectious in the best way possible. Please do something to keep promoting these great workers and what they contribute to the workplace! This is the service feeling you get at a classy hotel or fancy jewelry store. Fantastic all around.

Read moreI can never have a smooth experience at the location, whether it’s pick up orders at drive thru or food quality. Whenever I come for a simple pick up via drive thru and with their app, (3 times i can recall now) im always driving through twice because of communication issues with their staff. Haven’t had this issue come up at other locations, so i know it’s a location specific issue. I’ve learned every excuse they can give me, like i didn’t say anything at this or that window; every time i come in something different is wrong. I’m very rarely driving, this inconvenience affects people kind enough to bring me. A few months back, i believe the first time this happened, I was snapped at by someone built like a mcdonalds manager and yelling at her staff like one; “you’re going to have to go through the drive-thru again, you’re holding up the line!” after a friend tried to clarify her order details at the first window and I had the audacity to ask about my online order at the second window. Couldn’t have taken more than 5 mins…which is me humouring her.
I’m simply done stopping here and I suggest people drive 5 mins down the road to 1505 Guelph Line location if you need your food. It’s not perfect but...
