Rendezvous Submarine Shop — Restaurant in Burlington

We love to support local and independent businesses. We have come here for years. Our last few times though we have noticed the quality slipping slightly. Last nights order was our worst one yet and I don’t think we will come back. For the price of the subs we paid and the lack of meat on our subs was almost embarrassing. I thought the subway chain was Chincy with their meat. My sub had the thinnest slice of meat going though the middle with a little bit of bacon on it as well. My bun was uncharacteristically dry, maybe because we got it at 6pm? Needless to say we were all disappointed in our meals and also that one of our favourite places to go isn’t here anymore unfortunately. I’m never want to leave a bad review, but I’m hoping this will maybe help turn things around with new ownership. I understand the cost of everything has gone up, but I’d happily pay more for my sub to get a sub with stuff in it. Like with most places nowadays, I fail to see the value you get for your money. It’s cheaper to buy all the ingredients and make six subs at home for the price of two here.

Atmosphere I gave a low mark mainly because it’s usually a bunch of people standing in there waiting for orders and there’s nowhere really for you to comfortably eat. Service is always friendly but the wait times for food can be long just to get a sub so they lose points there.

My family has been going here throughout our entire lives (over 30 years) and the quality was amazing. But unfortunately since the pandemic they have taken a complete nose dive in service and quality to the bottom. We had realized after leaving the shop that our order was wrong. So we went back and asked if they were able to correct the mistake by chance to which we were denied and blamed for the mistake, even though it was written down the way we wanted in the order form. Considering the prices here are ridiculous now, we had just asked for our money back instead. Again denied, they said they would fix it, so they had fixed it. At the end of the day this was our third strike, (with bad service and or quality) considering it was our once beloved sub shop we gave it that many chances. As it breaks my heart to say it, we will be taking our business to the chain restaurants from now on. As mentioned in similar reviews the price you are paying, is nowhere equivalent to the portion...

I’ve been dying to try Rendezous sub shop for a while now.

Today my office had our lunch catered by Rendezous. Everyone in the shop pitched in and grabbed 4 massive platters of subs. My apologies the photo is horrible, the sandwiches were so good they got devoured in a blink of an eye. The ultimate test of a quality sandwich is how fast the platters got eliminated.

The subs were fantastic. Two trays were sauced up and two trays were not. Subs were assorted so I was able to sample lots of different meats. Classic fresh toppings, lettuce, tomato, red onion mustard, mayo sub sauce and a little salt and pepper. Just the way I like it.

The freshly baked Italian bread was fantastic even after sitting for a while the subs were still soft and not mushy.

I met the owner and his wife they are amazing people.
