These guys are scammers never give proper itemized receipts and charges more for sweets never really made a single effort in giving fair quantity I think they do not even pay taxes. Recently bought sweets they charged me 30 dollars for one box no receipt given and they do not weigh in front of u they do it so quickly so u do not notice. Pls ban this shop or make a complaint to the authorities if they do not give proper itemized receipts.Even if u ask for receipt they give some paper which says item 1 item 2 scammers. They got away so many years because no one report them to authorities. We ppl know how much the sweet cost back in India also can say that if they know the person personally they are charging correctly beware they will rip u off by giving u very less for what u pay. Ask clearly for receipts with name of the item clearly mentioned the guy in the front will try to give you old batch of sweets be sure to ask for fresh ones. Literally they are charging 1 to 2 dollars per piece bunch of scammers running the place. One time had a chance to see the oil they use for frying samosa or anything it's black in color it's palm oil or something used endlessly for 50 times or more old oil without caring about customers this will cause cancer. Boycott this unhygienic scammer place if your health is...
Read moreWe have been living in the Burnaby/New West area for 10 years now and have frequented many of the local Indian Restaurants. Agra Sweets is undoubtedly our favourite. I come from a south Asian family and in my opinion, Agra is the most authentic and flavourful when it comes to its delicious curries, and you get a good value for what you pay for; it’s cheaper than the competition but the quality and flavour is superior, in my opinion.
We regularly order the Goat curry and the Daal turka, I highly recommend these. The texture is phenomenal and the flavours are very warm and comforting with the right amount of spice. The dishes aren’t super oily either. The goat meat is very tender and is seasoned perfectly. The curry is velvety and pairs well with the well cooked meat. The lentils in the Daal are also wonderfully seasoned, the onions add a crunchy texture that pairs well with the soft lentils and velvety curry. Each curry comes with free naan bread too!
I also have to give some praise to the sweets, the gajrela (sweet carrot squares) are amazing, pillowy texture and a sweet, subtle taste. Can’t recommend this...
Read moreHi everyone, i’ve been slacking on my reviews but this year was hectic. Lets begin... Agra Sweets is BY FAR the most reasonably priced (i said that for another place near by as well but this is cheaper) and most authentic REAL indian cuisine i’ve had in New West so far. Its not much to look at from the outside or to sit down and eat but they have a tables and chairs if you decide to eat there. The customer service is fast and polite and they have never got my order wrong as of yet. Honestly, the prices are not beatable by any other indian place (check it for yourself) in new west and that is hands down the truth but i wont stop there. If you’re actually looking for REAL indian food and spices and not the washed out flavouring, this is the place to go (dont forget to tell them how spicy you want it). For example, i had ordered butter chicken, a couple garlic naans and salad and it all came to just around $20 and that was more than enough for 2 people and we still had some left overs. One thing that is a must to try is the ‘samosa plate’ and i’ll just leave it at that ! Drop a like if...
