Awful customer service. I have been to this restaurant many times and my most recent experience was by far the worst one yet. I always order the same dishes which are the Vegetable Korma and the Butter Chicken, usually they are pretty good. Although, when I ordered them a few days ago the taste and smell were extremely off. When I made it clear to the server that I was not pleased with my dishes, she apologized and offered to re-make them. When I received the dishes the second time around they turned out to be even worse than the first ones. I then again stated that I was not impressed with the quality of the dishes and the sever called over the manager. When I explained, once again, that I was completely turned off by the dishes the manager said, "Sorry", and walked away. When it came time to pay the bill I was astonished to see that both dishes I complained about and did not touch were still on the bill. I could understand if i complained half way through eating the dishes but it was clearly visible that I took less then half a bite from each of them. I then paid the bill and left. I was extremely disappointed on my way home so I decided to call them to express my concerns. When I called, I asked to speak to the owner as he did not approach us in the restaurant to address our complaint. Mind you, we saw him standing in the back the entire time. The lady on the phone proceeded to tell me that he was, "Too busy to talk". I felt extremely degraded by this statement. Working in the restaurant industry for many years I know how busy and stressful it gets on a Saturday night. Although, in every single restaurant I have worked at my management has always made it extremely clear that customer satisfaction is always the most important. I have never once been in scenario where my manager told me she was "too busy" to address a complaint. As a customer I felt extremely shrugged off, disrespected and degraded. The fact that I could not manage to even speak to the owner just goes to show how much these workers care about their guests. I won't ever be attending this restaurant ever again nor will I ever be recommending...
Read moreWOW!! “An employee from a nearby competitor” Seriously? This is what you came up with? This is far beyond ridiculous!! I have been a loyal customer of your restaurant for the past five years and had nothing but positive things to say about your establishment to fellow friends and family. Receiving this kind of response from an employer who I thought would at least look into the matter is DISAPPOINTING. You should have investigated the issue properly but, instead, were too eager to write a response. First, if you read the previous review carefully, it was about something other than the wait time: a LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE and ACKNOWLEDGMENT not by just one but also by another employee serving the people dining in. We placed an order at 12:23 pm and were told to pick it up in 10 minutes. We arrived at the restaurant after 4 minutes, but we were okay with waiting, and we paid for the food right after our arrival. We patiently waited 20 minutes after placing the order, but your team did not acknowledge it. I stood at the front desk and tried to engage with your staff to see how much more of a wait it would be; your employees saw me standing there through the kitchen, but again, there was no acknowledgement! I had to phone you guys while waiting at the front desk, which was unattended the whole time so that someone would come to the counter and I could at least know about the wait time. We finally found out that our order was ready when the staff came out of the kitchen, and she made eye contact without verbal confirmation. I moved in her direction, and she gestured with a bag of samosas while she had a serving tray in the other hand. My order for the five samosas might not have amounted to a significant purchase, but a customer does not deserve this attitude or behaviour. I have the utmost respect towards the people working in customer service; my experience with your staff was terrible. I will remove my “AI-generated review” and leave this feedback here. Not that you care, but you just lost a long-time...
Read moreMy husband and I went to Indian Bombay Bistro on my birthday. We have been here twice before with a large group of people and were looking forward to dinner there. Having heard their advertisement on CityNews 11:30 multiple times to buy one entree and get another 50% off a second entree, as well as 50% off cocktails. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. After dinner our bill did not reflect any discount and we had to let our waitress know that our bill did not have the discount applied. We were then told that we had to let them know about the promotion even though this promotion is also on the restaurant’s website. Our new bill had the second entree discounted but not the $16 cocktail. Our waitress went to talk to her manager and we were told that there was no such promotion.
This is false advertising and after mulling over this for a few days, I taped the advertisement on CityNews and 10 days after our dinner there, on March 20 we went back to the restaurant to talk with them.
We were initially denied a credit and after the server went and spoke with her manager we were given a credit. We reminded the server that there’s GST and liquor tax. She said it was included. Checking my receipt after we left the restaurant showed a credit of $8. Back we went now for the principle and the server said that GST and liquor tax is included in the cocktail price. Whereas our second entree had the GST applied to the discounted price so therefore the same would have been for the cocktail.
We asked for her manager who finally came out to see us and subsequently gave us back the taxes.
Needless to say it was a birthday dinner that ended on a sour note. False advertising leaves a...
