Placed order on Uber eats. Cancelled order because I put in wrong adress. Uber informed me they would not refund me as the restaurant would get the money because they were in the process of making it. This was within 2-3 minutes of placing the initial order. I called the restaurant and asked if I could just pick the food up as the restaurant would still be in the process of making the food.
The restaurant informed me that one of my items was ready and another about to come out of the kitchen but if I wanted the order I would have to pay for it. When I explained what Uber had said, and that the restaurant had recieved the money, I offered to pick it up. The manager then told me to wait as she would ask her boss.
She called me back and again told me I can come and pick up my order no problem, but I would have to pay for it again.
I called Uber and explained them this new development, they spent over 10 minutes in the phone with the restaurant trying to resolve it. The restaurant flat out refused to make the order and not allow pick up with out payment.
I’m still waiting on the refund from Uber as the restaurant took money from me for food they refused to make, and refused to let me pick up. I think very unfair for a restaurant that’s been around for so long and even when I had offered to pick up the order myself after they had acknowledged they recieved payment.
Shame on you...
Read moreWe ordered from Baba Sweets for the first time per recommendations from family in the area. I was very pleasantly surprised! The food was pretty good. We ordered online and our food was ready in about 20 minutes. We walked in to pick up our dinner without any hiccups. We ordered the chili chicken, chicken curry, and rice. The chili chicken was one of the best I’ve had. The chicken was very soft and tender. The peppers and onions were cooked al dente with a nice a crunch! However, the chicken was on the sweeter side. My husband didn’t like the sweetness however I didn’t mind. If you need a chicken curry dish which tastes homemade… this dish, is it! Again, the chicken was soft and tender. The curry was amazing, not overly sweet or savory. The flavors of the onion, tomato, and spices were just perfect. It really tasted like comfort food. Something you could have on a cold rainy day and not feel guilty. The rice was just a typical order of rice. This was probably the first time i’ve ordered rice cooked with peas from an Indian restaurant. I didn’t mind it but if you don’t like peas then don’t order the rice. I highly recommend the two dishes we ordered from Baba Sweets, more specifically the chicken curry. I do plan on trying more items in the...
Read moreThe bottom line: Very expensive for what you get. You get little overall. I even tipped, because I want to support local business. That was a mistake. The young man who took my payment was impatient and gave very little information. He just didn’t feel like being very helpful to me I guess. That’s ok though: lesson learned. The portion of lamb in the regular size curry was very small. It was two mouthfuls of meat swimming in a bowl of sauce. When you bring it home and are so disappointed after that weird service: I’d consider this as a rude gesture. They must know how little they put in. 6 tiny pieces. Each one about a tablespoon sized. Maybe two ounces of meat. After that tip? Come on guys. The taste is good, they cook well, and I’ve had it many times, but when you get such a tiny amount for your money it feels like a rip off. The other dish was a decent portion and quite tasty but it was veggie and that’s cheap to make anyway. Naan was good. It’s naan though. Glad I ordered it to fill the gaps. Sadly I won’t be going back even though it’s in my neighborhood and I love Indian food. I’ll just go down the block or across the street. It’s a shame because their samosas are very nice but I just can’t be bothered to risk this sort of...
