If there’s one place that knows how to elevate desserts to an art form, it’s Chez Christophe in Burnaby. This chocolatier is pure magic, and after trying their Valentine’s Day box, I can confidently say they’ve mastered the art of romance through chocolate.
From the moment I stepped into Chez Christophe, I was greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere and an incredible display of handcrafted treats that looked almost too beautiful to eat. But trust me—you’ll want to eat them. Every single bite was perfection.
The Valentine’s Day box was a dream come true. A stunning collection of chocolates, each piece was exquisitely designed, full of rich flavors, and crafted with incredible attention to detail. It wasn’t just dessert—it was an experience.
From delicate chocolates that melted in my mouth, every treat in the box felt luxurious and indulgent. It was clear that each creation was made with the highest quality ingredients and a true passion for chocolate.
And let’s talk about the presentation—gorgeous. Opening the Valentine’s box felt like unwrapping a gift from a high-end Parisian chocolate. It was the kind of treat that makes any occasion feel extra special.
Beyond the incredible desserts, the staff at Chez Christophe were fantastic—so friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their craft. They made the experience feel even more special, adding a personal touch that truly sets this place apart.
If you’re looking for the perfect way to treat yourself or someone you love, Chez Christophe is the place to go. Whether it’s their seasonal treats, signature chocolates, or famous croissants, everything here is next-level amazing. I already can’t wait for...
Read moreDistressing encounter with abusive staff this Saturday at Chez Christophe, in White Rock. A dear friend in France ordered me chocolates and cake from here online for my 60th birthday. I didn't have time to visit the store to pick up this kind offer, but my friend urged me that the store was closed Sunday and I'd miss my special gift so I broke off from work and reluctantly drove to the store. I picked up my gift, and ordered a cappuccino for about $4.50 to drink in, the tiniest and worst tasting coffee ever, the cashier told me their minimum debit transaction was $5, I gently advised her its not allowed by debit/visa to have a minimum purchase price, the Asian manager walked over and quite simply abused me in front of all the customers and described my truthful, legitimate customer concern as "arguing", and continued to use a condescending tone and berate me. This was my special birthday gift and it sickened me to be dealing with such a hateful young woman, who could have simply been polite and said something like we'll double check this or we'll make an exeption today seeing as your friend in France spent about $20 on your birthday treats! I couldn't have my cappuccino in the store after the bullying, I was forced to pay with cash, and left utterly appalled. They claimed this minimum purchase price was "store policy", but debit/visa advised me its not allowed, and just a scam to push unsuspecting customers to order more items. These rules are easily...

We came here to try the hot chocolate festival drinks. The cafe was busy, and obviously understaffed.
The cashier was very rude. She was yelling at the customers, and walked off to do something else halfway through taking an order while the customer was still speaking. Barista slammed drinks on the counter and didn’t call out customer names. Zero apologies given.
I understand it’s busy so they must be stressed and frustrated, but there is no need to take it out on your customers. We felt very unwelcome here.
The barista served our drinks in paper cups instead of glass, because the staff couldn’t clean the glassware fast enough. We were very disappointed since the hot chocolate was the sole reason we came here, and the pictures online showed a really great presentation. Wish the barista asked us first, we would have been totally ok with waiting until they had glassware ready.
There were also cleanliness issues. One of our plates had bits of leftover food still stick on it. The counter near the coffee equipment had several large spills on it that was never wiped up in the duration of our half hour visit.
We did like the hot chocolate and pastries here. They were well made. Flavor was good and not overly sweet.
Not sure if we should visit again to give them a chance to redeem themselves. No customers deserve the kind of bad attitude given here. But maybe the staffs were just...
