I would not give this place even half a star. But Google would not let me post without giving at least a star. We visited this place to have dinner once before and were refused entry due to me having a service dog. I left without incident but called back the next day to speak to the manager to help them understand the laws as well as to support others with support dogs. I advised him of the Ontario Humans rights act around service dogs as well as the Accessibility and Disabilities act for Ontarians and he said he would look into it. Well I went back and he still denied entry. Claiming He looked into it but that called the Health inspector in Bolton and was told that animals are not allowed inside and that the Ontario Human Rights act or the Accessibility and Disabilities act takes a back seat to what the health inspector advised him of. I called the Police and he even argued with them. After 10 minutes of even arguing with the police he finally agreed rather than being fined and possibly charged. What an A$$. Still decided to eat. My wife had gone in 10 minutes earlier cause she was cold and ordered some food but told them not to bring it till I was in. Well they brought the food any way but she told them we were not ready. When I got in we ordered again and they brought us the same food that she sent back. Incredibly ignorant in so many ways. Rest of the food was marginally good. They brought us Sashimi that was still frozen. I had to apologize to my wife for bringing her back there after the first fiasco and we left. I will never eat there again and I think this place is the worst place to eat. People are ignorant and careless and very very unprofessional. They should not be allowed to operate a business in Ontario...
Read moreThis was my second time at this resturant. The first time i was with my service dog and husband and the service was not great. There were only 2 tables of guests, us and another table, the waiter was just sitting on his phone the whole time. We had to get up from the table to ask for water refills, napkins, ginger/wasabi, and the bill. I attempted to go back there again with my husband and service dog. I was greeted by the same staff but this time i was told i wasnt allowed to eat in the same area as previously, despite there only being 1 customer there other than us. They said i could sit in the back room and warned me that its hot back there. I wanted to sit where everyone else sits and was refused. I tried explaining the service animal thing but they didnt seem to care. On my way out i noticed they have a cage of pigeons attached to the building.. I ended up going to sushi date. Sushi date is much larger and better maintained version of sushi hama. The waitress there was polite and on-the-ball. She topped up our waters without us having to ask, she cleared the empty plates quickly to keep the table comfortable, she provided us enough napkins and was plesant and friendly to interact with. The bill for all you can eat dinner for 2 adults with tip (no drinks) was around 100 at sushi hama, and it was 80 at sushi date, I'm definitely never going back to...
Read moreThis used to be our go to place for AYCE sushi a year to two years ago, but we stopped going there for awhile due to some unpleasant stories we've heard. Recently we thought to give this place a second chance. Unfortunately, our experience was not spectacular.
The good part of our meal that is worth mentioning is that the hot foods that were served were steaming hot and cooked just right. The meat were not dry and they were packing with flavor. However, the sushi and fish portion of the meal was lack lustre and highly disappointing. The maki rolls were not rolled properly and looked oddly shaped. Some of the maki rolls that were offered tasted off and left a weird taste in our mouths. In addition, the sashimi and fish quality tasted very low grade, with colors that differed from other sushi places (AYCE included). The fish was not only very fishy in taste (aka not fresh) but was served at room temperature, which made us feel like they have been left out too long.
All in all, if you were going to a AYCE sushi place for hot foods, then you've definitely found your spot, but I personally would not recommend this place for the fish, sashimi, sushi, and maki rolls. I mean it could have been an off day for them that night, but I doubt we will be returning...
