I first heard about "Pizza Panini" from a couple of our friends who had moved to Bolton. One of my friends whose favourite food is pizza, highly recommended I try Pizza Panini, raving that it is now his favourite pizza place. I finally found the time to visit my friends in Bolton, and brought him and his wife an extra large pizza from his favourite pizza restaurant (Pizza Panini). Needless to say, he loved it.
On my way back to where I live (Toronto), I decided to pass by Pizza Panini's restaurant and order a pizza for myself.
By the time the kitchen staff began to make my pizza, the owner John who had placed my order, encouraged me to comfortably sit at the bar, while I waited. Later, John and his employee Lucy came over to converse with me, so as not to wait alone. We began to share our views about the topic of the day - "the pandemic" and how it has affected the restaurant business. We also spoke about the Bolton area, their experiences in the food industry, the charities and causes John's restaurant takes part in, and their backgrounds. To my delight, I learned that both John and Lucy were originally from the West end of Toronto, where I have lived for most of my life. We shared and compared the details of the familiar West end places known to the three of us. Reminiscing about the same streets, restaurants, bakeries and community helped make my wait comfortable and pleasant. It also didn't take long to see that John and his staff are friendly, and really go out of their way to make all customers feel welcome, including new ones like me.
About Pizza Panini - the atmosphere of the restaurant/dining area looks like an inviting and comfortable place to sit and eat. I can't wait to return with family and friends to dine in. More importantly, the pizza I ordered and ate was absolutely delicious! I could taste the freshness of the toppings and handmade pizza crust. The warm crust had a soft, pastry texture like no other. The portion size was generous, the golden pizza crust was cooked perfectly, and the prices were very reasonable.
Throughout my life I have ordered and tasted too many pizzas to count, as pizza is one of my favourite foods too. After tasting and thoroughly enjoying my first pizza from Pizza Panini, I agree with my friends from the Bolton area, that Pizza Panini far exceeds numerous pizza restaurants in the surrounding Toronto area. In addition, the many awards on the wall of the restaurant further illustrates that others agree with me too.
Hopefully the Covid virus and its' variants will diminish, where we can all feel safe to dine in our favourite restaurants and better enjoy the food and atmosphere. For me, one of my first and new choices will definitely be Pizza Panini, even when not visiting friends in the Bolton area. I also can't wait to try the many Italian dishes offered at Pizza Panini's, as well as bring some extra food home to family and friends in Toronto.
Thank you John and Lucy for your warm hospitality, exceptional service, and delicious pizza! Your new 🍕...
Read moreThe poor waitresa was by herself. All the tables were full with the exception of 1 or 2 tables empty. There was 7 of us dining. We ordered some appetizers and they were fantastic. Then we ordered some panini and panzerottis plus a pizza. We waited over an hour for the food to come. We ordered a pizza with bocconini cheese, soppressta and anchovies. The pizza came with broccoli not bocconcini cheese, that was ok because everyone makes mistakes but it's the owner's fault for only have 1 waitress doing it all. They took the pizza away, when the new pizza came, I took a slice and all the toppings came off. It was liquidy like a soup. It looked like just a bocconcini pizza with no other toppings. When I approached the owner and told him how liquidy the pizza was, he told me that it was the bocconcini that makes the pizza liquidy and that you have to make it sit. I told him I have ordered it here before and it was never liquidy like that. Also, my father had a pizza business for over 30 years and his pizza was never liquidy and I haven't experienced that anywhere else. He didn't even take the pizza off the bill. That was very unprofessional for the $15 or $20 that it was, he lost us as...
Read moreThe service staff was nice but the service itself was very poor, and when I say poor, I'm being kind. Our orders took a long time to arrive, and when they did, they were all mixed up and some were incorrect altogether. We just kept what we had as it was too much of a hassle to send it back. Also they close rather early, at 9:00 pm, but when the check came every single one of them were wrong. I pointed it and there was an attempt to fix it, however it was still wrong. I finally just scratched the items that were not mine off the bill and added the ones that were missed by hand, worked out the subtotal, the hst and the total. I even gave a tip which i should have not done but i felt sorry for them. We left there well after 9:00pm since we had to fix each and every check (there were six of them) I don't think i will ever go back there again. It was truly a disappointment and the food was...
