A&W Canada — Restaurant in Calgary

A&W takes the crown as the reigning fast-food champion in Canada, and heck, they might even give American fast-food joints a run for their money too! This particular chain has been my go-to spot for some quick and delicious combos. It's a reliable place to satisfy those fast-food cravings, and the best part is, it's just a short stroll away from my place. Back in the day, my group and I would frequent this joint while working on our capstone projects—it fueled our brains with both ideas and burgers!

Now, I must admit, there have been a couple of hiccups along the way. The customer service is a bit of a rollercoaster ride. On a good day, it's all smiles and quick service, but on a not-so-good day, they seem to forget we even exist! I remember waiting for what felt like eons, finally giving in and asking about our order, only to see the lightbulb go off in their heads as they realized they had forgotten about us. It's like we were invisible or something, but hey, we've all got those forgetful moments, right? No hard feelings!

Thankfully, the ambiance saves the day! A&W manages to whisk you away to the 1960s with their signature diner style. It's got that vintage charm that you won't find in any other fast-food joint, and that, my friends, is a win!

Now, there's this spicy mayo they offer, and I have to say, it's a real mystery. I don't know what they put in it, but it's got a funny, ungodly taste to it. It's like it's trying to be spicy, but it's having an identity crisis! But no worries, even with these quirks and little mishaps, I keep coming back. Because when they get it right, they hit it out of the park! Those onion rings, oh boy, they are an absolute delight! Crunchy, flavorful, and simply superb.

In the end, A&W may not be perfect, but it's got that special something that keeps me coming back for more. Sure, it's not a flawless 5/5, but when it's on its game, it's a solid home run. And those onion rings alone are...

Very poor experience at this A&W this morning when attempting to have our breakfast. My partner sat in the booth before me as we were getting situated and waiting for our food. Upon sitting down he realized that his bottom was completely soaked, after getting up it was determined that what he sat in was urine. We then asked for the manager. Although people have accidents and things happen this should not have. As it's evident that the table and seats were not cleaned properly from the previous customer. The restaurant was empty. Even after we brought it to their attention it was not cleaned and then within a few minutes someone else sat in that booth. Very disturbing. The lady who said she was the manager took my name and number for a complimentary Breakfast next time was appreciated. It was disappointing the way it was handled and seemed like what we were saying was not acknowledged or a concern. Because of this we had to return home shower, change, launder and late for work as a result. Totally...

If I had the option to leave negative stars I would. My boyfriend ordered food for pick up through skip the dishes at this restaurant and when he arrived to pick it up they told him they didn’t have the skip the dishes service at all. He went back through the drive through and even showed them proof of purchase on the app what he ordered and when. They then (despite just telling him they didn’t even have skip) told him that the order had already been picked up and that there is nothing they could do. The workers then closed the window on him and refused to talk to him further, ignoring him and taking other orders through their headsets. He left with no food despite paying for everything and driving all the way to pick it up. The workers had no care to solve the issue or to even hear him out. They need to learn how to use the delivery technology they are promoting as skip will say that an order has been picked up when the person picking it up is in the general location. We will not be ordering...
