We've been visiting this restaurant occasionally since they opened in Creekside. They have buy two noodle soups and get one free from day 1. I would not call the service bad with all previous experience as the waiter or waitress just does their job, nothing exceptional but no complaint. BUT WE WILL NOT GO BACK ANYMORE AFTER THE LAST UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE. Family of four came by for lunch, sat down and ordered three noodle soups (one is free as part of the B2G1 promotion) and one dry vermicelli bowl. The kids like the dry noodle but can't finish all, so we always ask one additional bowl to let them share. Shockingly, the waiter told us that the additional bowl will cost $2 each to get because some customers abuse the promotion like 6 people only order 2 noodle soups, then ask for bowls to share 3 among all of them. I did not see that it should apply to us, but I respected the policy as it is clearly printed on the menu. Later, the waiter seemed to realize four people ordered four items, and they will not lose money, then he gave us a bowl without charge as an exception (exact the reason). The story was not finish though, I asked the waiter to have a little bit of chili sauce (they have hot sauce on the table along with other spice like salt and pepper, but it is not hot enough by my taste), but I could not believe that what I was going to hear "it is $2.00 for the chili sauce". I just laughed and told the waiter to forget about what I asked for.

Is this business really broke and so desperate to charge extra for every single item that they don't think the customer deserves to have? I call it ridiculous and non-sense even they may have the right to set the rules. We are not going back as my...

Update: came back to try to see if the rating can be improved. Unfortunately still similar rating. Coupon and deals are very confusing and if you don’t ask, you end up getting a better deal! They have an ongoing buy $25, get $5 gift card and the regular buy 2 get 1 free for next time deal. Seems like you can stack. Just don’t ask and accept whatever deal they give you. Beats me how the system works. Service-wise they are very attentive to the point it can be too much if you are trying to have a conversation without interruption but I guess more service is better than none! Broth is less flavourful than I remembered. Pho SM is $12.99 and LG is $14.99 now.

Their promotions are explained in a very confusing way. Order 2, get 1 free is for next time only and you need a coupon for it. It was misleading as this promotion used to be valid every time and any time at their old location. They kept the same sign on the outside of the shop but write a lot of fine print on the menu that is difficult to understand. There is a time limit to use the coupon too..Mon to Sun 1030-4pm.

The pho is served very hot though and comes out very fast. Soup flavouring is average - I have had better in city. The rare beef seems to be very low grade so when it gets cooked in the soup, it becomes tough and hard to chew. Service is average. Pricing for SM is 9.99 and L is 11.99 for most pho. Sate and other special ones are priced differently. If you go with their promotion, it is very difficult to understand bc the free coupon you get is dependent on what type of pho you order. Overall, it's so confusing that it's not worth trying to understanding...

I ordered 40 pieces of salad rolls in advance. This restaurant made the worst quality food ever. More than half of my salad rolls fell apart after 30 minutes platting it out. The sauce was so water. I called back to discuss my concerns (1st time ordering too) the staff were arguing back-and-forth about how that’s bullshit and there shouldn’t be anything that they can give me, and how could I expect anything less or what was I supposed to expect? BUT IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE. Unknowingly to them I could ALSO understand the language. They were speaking and heard it all on the phone and recorded it with my voice recording option on iPhone, I told them I could understand everything I heard and told them I used the voice recording while they were talking about me, they said they would have to call the manager to see what they could do and then after that, they call the manager and the manager said that they could offer me 10% back off the order. I wasn’t choked about the 10% back which is ridiculous still. I was more choked about how they thought I couldn’t understand what they were saying and so they continue to go off about me and and completely disregarded my concerns about how cheap and gross the salad rolls were. After pointing this out, they reluctantly offered only a 10% refund. The food was bad, but the dismissive and unprofessional service was worse. Would not...

I recently visited Vietnam Palace and had an absolutely delightful dining experience. I ordered the rare beef sauté bowl, and it was a culinary treat from start to finish. The rare beef was perfectly cooked, maintaining a tender and juicy texture that paired wonderfully with the rich and flavorful broth. Speaking of the broth, it was incredibly delicious, boasting a depth of flavor that was both savory and slightly sweet. Each sip was a delightful experience, warming and comforting, making it clear that a lot of care and expertise went into its preparation. The bowl also came with a generous serving of fresh bean sprouts, adding a lovely crunch and freshness to the dish. It was clear that the ingredients were of high quality, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. The ambiance of Vietnam Palace is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that my dining experience was top-notch from beginning to end. Overall, I highly recommend Vietnam Palace to anyone looking for delicious Vietnamese cuisine. The rare beef sauté bowl is a must-try, and I look forward to returning and trying more of their menu offerings!

UPDATE! TEMPORARILY CLOSED ORDERED BY ALBERTA HEALTH. SEE PHOTO ATTACHED FOR DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF MOUSE DROPPINGS FOUD. Unfortunately have to update my review to 1 star. This past few months they made significant changes to their portion sizes. Even their Iced Vietnamese coffee is now half of the cup when it used to be served full. They come up with excuses and won’t make it right when I got this same coffee in 2022 served perfectly right every time. Disappointing and won’t be ordering again. There are better and more deserving places in Calgary to give your money to. This is the only restaurant we order Vietnamese food from. It taste exactly the same every single time (we got take out from here at least 50 times by now as we’ve made an order a couple of times a month for several years). My order is vegetable spring roll vermicelli and my boyfriend orders different types of meat with vermicelli. We usually add peanut sauce too ($1 per serving). So far they have never mixed our food up or forgotten anything which I’m truly impressed by. I make a point of always ordering through their own website and I drive to pick it up. I know Skip the dishes takes quite a big cut.

Not to bad for what we ordered. Broth was really good and quail was nice and tender. One thing I would add to the quail is a small sauce something like lime juice with a bit of salt and black pepper always complements fried quail nicely. Over all flavour was good. Still prefer some of the NE locations a bit more due to price it's not a huge difference but ever dollar counts. keep in mind the location of this store is in a bit expensive area so that could be why. Decor was different I liked it and also the glass window that allows you to see into a part of the kitchen I thought that was pretty cool. One thing I must add I have never seen an extra charge on a menu for extra sauté this was a first for me. Hope this helps enjoy.
