Aleppo Shawarma and Donair — Restaurant in Calgary

I sent my brother in this past Tuesday on September 4th to pick up some beef donairs, it was buy one get one free at the time, which would have been an amazing deal. Yes my brother was dumb to not bring up the offer when he ordered, but I was astonished to find that we paid full price for three beef donairs with no mention from the staff about this ongoing offer.

It would have made sense for them to at least mention the buy one get one free offer and to have suggested for us to get four for the price of two, or at the very, very least given us one free with the purchase of two, but no, no mention of anything whatsoever, even having tipped the standard 15% for take out. This was extremely disappointing to me and left me feeling cheated.

The wraps themselves were pretty decent, and it was enjoyable, not to mention that the ingredients were fresh. However, I cannot get over the extreme lack of courtesy that this place had to offer.

Reply to owner: I do understand that it was for a mobile app offer, but I do think it would have been great to mention that when my brother (again I don't disagree he was dumb for not mentioning anything) went in to order, even if it would be for a future reference, especially given that he is young and technologically ept. I am absolutely appalled at the service I got today.ive been a supporter for years because the owner is a very nice man. Today went there to get lunch for me and a colleague, I ordered 1 beef salad and 1 chicken plate. I changed my mind about the beef salad and wanted a beef plate because the pictures on the menu looked so good. So I told the lady there, she even printed out a receipt that said beef plate and chicken shwarma plate. I saw that she was packing 2 beef plates and stopped her immediately. Instead of fixing the situation, she then proceeds to blame me and tell me it is my fault. She was very condescending and wanted an argument, not sure what she was looking for. I get take out from this place at least 3 to 5 times a month but today was my last. I feel really bad because the owner is a very sweet man and I have always gone back because he is really good.
