Pho Anh Huyen is always my favourite underrated phõ meal in Calgary!! Run by a wholesome Vietnamese family who love their grandkids and accommodate your needs just the same. Highly recommend having their spicy coconut curry soup broth with the protein of your choice. As a vegan there are plenty of tofu/veg options and they're willing to ensure dishes have no egg/meat etc. When I'm sick, I often order just the broth to help ease a chest cough/sinus infection and it always feels, smells and tastes incredibly delicious even when half of my tastebuds aren't working. Their portions are good and if you bring the broth/soup home, they taste amazing even with more water added and whichever toppings as the base is so rich in flavour! I've been trying to make my own but cannot replicate the unique taste of their coconut/curry epic broth as it's something you can't find in any jar or even other phõ restaurant. Truly an amazing family diner experience with no fancy tiny portions or overpriced options- best place whether eating on a budget, having a nice meal with the family/kids, on your own or wishing to enjoy a tasty dinner with friends in a casual low-key atmosphere. Please support local businesses such as these as they're hard to...
Read moreI usually go there once every week for lunch for almost two years now, not so much for the food but rather because it's close to work. The food is nothing special, just your typical Vietnamese noodles. I had a horrible experience today. Went in to order my usual Pad Thai, and had to wait for over half an hour. There were people that were sitting down after me, ordered and almost finished eating before I got my food. There was another guy who came to order pick up 10 minutes after me and got his food first. I went to check with the manager(?) and go the stink eye from him. Excuse me if I have to go back to work, but when I checked with him, apparently my food wasn't even made yet. If this is how they are treating their loyal return customer, then I won't be a...
Read moreI am giving this restaurant 1 star for the mere fact that I cannot leave a review with 0 stars.
My office ordered from Pho Anh and received extremely poor and aggressive service. We called in and placed our order, as well as confirmed our order was recorded correctly. Unfortunately, when arriving to pick up our order it was completely wrong. Furthermore, the "owner" of the store became quite aggressive towards us and would not remake our order or refund us. We ended up leaving feeling completely violated and taken advantage of.
Lastly, the food we did receive (which was wrong) was also cold, poorly made and tasted disgusting. I will NEVER order from this establishment again and strongly urge you to skip this and go to Basil, or the Vietnamese place...
