Bahar Kabab - Afghan Cuisine — Restaurant in Calgary

Although i have yet to try the food, i live in the building and watched them as they tore the old outdated space apart and made it into a beautiful little spot right in the heart of downtown.

First there are a couple parking spots in the back along the fence. We also have 2 hour free parking on 10th st. They had air conditioning installed and are planning on more upgrades to the exterior in the future.. i simply cant wait to see what they do!

When i say the place is clean the place is CLEAN! as a person who has ocd myself i would have zero issues trusting this business and their practices of hygiene. 10 out of 10!

As i was coming home on night last week, i got so see some of the dishes that were served to friends of the neighborhood... Not only did they order more to go but they just kept talking about how amazing the food was . This person who raved also owns multiple successful businesses in the city

It smells so good coming and going and i definitely see very happy people returning and they are brand new still to the building

The folks who own the place are very warm and lovely people. I am happy they are here!

I have lived here 6 years , went through 3 different chicken stores that i had NEVER left a review. I did not see any of them lasting in the neighborhood

If you’re in Calgary, you need to check out Bahar Kabab. The food is full of heart, the flavors are spot on, and the hospitality makes you feel right at home.

Bolani Crispy, perfectly seasoned, and not greasy at all. Paired with their yogurt sauce, it’s the perfect start to the meal.

Mantu Soft, delicate dumplings loaded with flavor. The beef filling, lentil sauce, and yogurt all work together beautifully. You can taste the care in every bite.

Lamb Shank Fall-off-the-bone tender. Rich, comforting, and perfectly seasoned — one of the best lamb dishes I’ve had.

Beef & Chicken Kebabs Juicy, smoky, and full of flavor. Both kebabs were grilled just right, served with fluffy naan and grilled veggies.

Kabuli Palaw The star of the show. Fragrant rice with sweet raisins, carrots, and tender lamb. It’s comfort food at its best.

Noticed this place driving by a bunch of times, and always wanted to try it. My only regret is I waited so long. The couple that run the place are so incredibly welcoming when you walk in the door. The dining area is small and while this may be a con for some, I find it adds to the ambience and connection to the people who run it. The food is absolutely deliciously fantastic with so much flavor and so many choices (can never go wrong with that Tandoori chicken dish), and their samosas are to die for in every bite (you can have an entire meal just on the quality of their samosas!). I went there once myself, and since returned with family and friends in subsequent visits and all have loved the food and experience. What this place lacks in seating space will definitely be compensated with your taste buds.
