So I struggled while writing this review because the Food was honestly some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time. The Service however was some of the worst I’ve seen in a long time.
For context, we had a larger group of 12 out for a celebration.
Seating was a little cramped but not terrible though we were short a couple seating arrangements on arrival. It took over an hour from the moment we all arrived and got our drinks, to the time our food arrived. During this time we never had a drink refill, some drinks requested never arrived like glasses of water, pop, ect. One of our party ordered a drink that appeared to have gone bad quiet a while ago. Waitresses seemed inattentive and forgetful. Had cutlery passed to us in a giant pile as a previous review complained about (while not bad per say, just felt unprofessional at the time, like being at a friends house being passed cutlery from an older gentleman)
We even got to witness the staff fighting in front of the entire restaurant as things were thrown and angry words exchanged. (Younger female staff members being yelled at by older male staff members really kills the mood). It was even a struggle to get the bill at the end, and honestly I was just happy to get out of there after more than 2 hours.
Now to the positives! DANG that was some good food though! 😂😭 as mentioned before was honestly the best Chinese food I’ve had in years. Can’t say it made up for the service, but was definitely the silver lining of the night. Definitely recommend the palace style chicken and spicy beef thick noodles.
Would definitely consider again for take out, but not sure if I want to try sitting down for another dinner anytime soon!
10/10 for the food 2/10 for the service 10/10 for not a single chandelier in the restaurant matching. Was a unique look and was well enjoyed...
Read more2018.02.13. before the valentine’s day, my boyfriend took me to Bill’s Peking House for dinner. It is a local Chinese restaurant and the most famous dish serves in this place such as egg foo yong & Peking duck. It was our first time having dinner at this restaurant.
Environment:
We arrived restaurant around 4:30 pm right after my work before the dinner time. The restaurant was just open. The restaurant was on the second floor of the building. It was empty inside. We grabbed a seat directly when we walked into the restaurant. Inside the restaurant, there are many tables. Most of them were a table for four people. The whole environment was very organized, nice and clean.
Service:
After we sat down, the server brought the food menu to our table and began to serve us drink. Our table server is a Chinese lady. She is very nice and friendly.
Food:
After looking at the menu, we decided what to order for the dinner. We had Peking Duck 3 courses and starter platters. The starter platters include Sesame shrimp toast, Dumplings and salt & pepper ribs. Peking Duck 3 courses, which includes Wraps, Soup & Choice of fried rice, chow mein, and bean sprouts. All the food came out with large portions. They were all well cooked and very tasty.
Prices:
The prices of food were OK. Comparing with other Chinese Restaurants, it’s very cheap.
In summary, we enjoyed our dinner at Bill’s Peking House. Besides the dinner menu, this restaurant also offers Dim Sum for breakfast. I would like to try their dim sum too. Highly recommend people to try the food at Bill’s Peking House. Great customer services, Great food,...
Read moreThis is my 3rd time ordering a since they moved locations and it hasn’t gotten better over time.
This time I ordered dumplings, egg rolls, salt and pepper squid, Shanghai noodles with chicken, beef chow fun with black bean sauce and a Peking dinner for one.
The dumplings, egg rolls and salt and pepper squid were horrible. There was way, way too much batter and very little filling in the rolls and dumplings. The squid and dumplings were old, stale, over cooked… not good at all.
The Peking dinner for one and noodles and chow fun were just okay. Chow fun didn’t have enough sauce and Shanghai noodles was bland.
I was waiting to post to see how the left overs heated up the next couple days.
The egg rolls and dumplings were inedible. To stale and greasy. The noodles heated up okay but needed lots of soya sauce for taste. Dinner for one heated up okay. Squid was greasy and tough.
I used to get BBQ pork but last few times it was bland and dry. I also used to get the dry garlic ribs but they were 95% bone and gristle.
It makes me sad as the food was once consistent and now I can no longer consider ordering here for the cost and quality.
Hopefully they read this before it’s too late. Bring in some tasters and help to improve taste and quality. Otherwise I can’t see them surviving based upon...
