Boston Pizza — Restaurant in Calgary

On Saturday November 11, 2017 my family and I went to the new Boston Pizza that has opened in west springs. As soon as we walked in no one was there to greet us or show us around to our table we walked in and just sat down. The wait time for food took longer than expected especially since there were only a hand full of people. I had order the New York and while waiting for my food I had a clear view of the kitchen; one of the gentlemen sitting at the bar having a few drinks with his friends had gotten up to go to the kitchen. I thought this was rather odd because first of all he is drinking at the bar with his friends and second he is poking the food ready to give out with his fingers, which is very unprofessional and disgusting. The food this man had been poking was in fact my food and as a customer I had the right to turn away the food, from taking over an hour to get my food to actually having my poked food brought to me I had enough of this point. The waitress insisted that the man was a head chef and he wanted to see if the steak was cooked properly. From a customers perpesctive you can see how wrong this my seem. A guy from the bar drinking with his friends then gets up to poke food and returns to the bar and continues to drink, not a good impression. When the head chef was told that I had complained his response was "yes, I've heard" no reassurance that the food was ok or that he washed his hands. He was very rude and did not apologize. All in all my experience at Boston pizza was not pleasant. I hope they sort out their staff soon and maybe one day run a successful establishment but I will most likely not be returning to...

Came here on a Tuesday as the family had a craving for pasta. Great timing as well because Tuesday is Pasta night. Gourmet Pastas for $15.99 . This location is in a strip mall with plenty of parking. On this day they were quite busy and we had to wait a bit - they have a patio, main floor area, upper floor and lounge. Lounge doesn't allow kids and upstairs was closed. After a few minutes of waiting they asked us if patio was ok and since it was nice out we decided to do that. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the patio.

I ordered the Pizza Flight which is 3 small pizzas of your choice (Hawaiian, Boston Royal, and Perogy). The Pizza Flight is new for the summer and I have to say, a great idea when you can't decide what pizza to get. It was so good. I especially enjoyed the perogy. My wife ordered the Hungry Carnivore - she liked it. It also comes with garlic cheese bread. The kids ordered the Smokey Mountain Spaghetti with meatballs. They allow substitutions of sauce and pasta at no charge so my daughter had penne. They both enjoyed their meals. We also shared 2 caesar salads as they is a deal on Tuesday to add for $5.

My family thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The service was a bit slow - perhaps they are short staffed which could explain why the upper floor was not open. If you enjoy good food this location is great if you are not in a rush and don't mind...

Kids made pizzas. Awesome pizza party We booked a Little Chef’s birthday party at Boston Pizza and it was honestly the best experience ever. My son just turned 4 and seeing a bunch of preschoolers making their own pizzas was the cutest thing. Because we had an extra large group of 24 kids and 20 adults they set us up in the private area upstairs which made it even better. Every person had a place to sit which was such a relief with a group that size.

The kids got a kitchen tour, grabbed their own drinks, and made their pizzas which came with a side of veggies or fries. The pizzas were cooked super fast and were so delicious. At the end they made their own ice cream sundaes which was the perfect sweet finish. We even had a surprise appearance from Pikachu which the kids went crazy for.

What stood out the most was how much they truly care. They definitely treated us like family. The communication was impeccable and even emailing with the manager Thomas was so easy. There wasn’t a single staff member who didn’t help me in some way. Jessica L, Jamie, Thomas and the whole team knocked it out of the park.

It was also really affordable to order pizzas and jugs of beer for the parents which made the whole afternoon even more enjoyable. Thank you so much for making our son’s birthday so special. I wouldn’t be surprised if we ended up having it here...
