We decided to try this place out for something new. When you walk in, you come to a wall of food boxes, a menu and self-serve kiosks. There is a cool graffiti style mural with the Brooklyn bridge on one side and notable Calgary places on the other.
We used a self-serve kiosk which we regretted as we noticed afterwards you can order from your phone and get points. We ordered a 12 piece dumpling and chose 3 flavours- cheeseburger, Korean BBQ and lamb gyro. Additionally, we ordered a crispy chicken protein bowl with peanut sauce and waffle fries.
When we were notified our food was done on a screen, you walk up and scan your receipt to open a door. Our food was in there but we had to get the attention of someone behind the wall as our drinks weren't anywhere.
We appreciated the box divided with the flavours and stickers telling you which one they are. We really liked the cheeseburger and Korean BBQ but the lamb gyro was so-so. Some of the dumplings were stuck to the bottom of the box.
The protein bowl was really disappointing as the chicken was not crispy at all, very little cabbage and broccoli, no carrots and tons of green onions. The peanut sauce was also not noticeable.
We added an order of apple pie dumplings for dessert. When I scanned the receipt for those, it opened an empty food slot and had to get someone to resolve that. There were only 2 small apple pie dumplings.
The food boxes made which were meant to be convenient resulted in the opposite (problems with both orders and took...
Read moreIt is a very small place(3-4 tables)in Inglewood , parking is hard there so we ordered pick up. It was friendly and fast pick up service. I was little bit upset they do not have all kings of dumplings flavors that the brand has(can find on official website). For example I would like to try Kung Pao chicken or Pork and cabbage. So we ordered cheeseburger and Korean BBQ dumplings, chop chop rice and peanut noodles. I liked Korean BBQ dumplings more, they are sweet and spicy, however cheeseburger dumplings are not as good, not sure like them. Peanut noodles with crispy chicken is good. Portion looks small but I could not finish it in 2 times, there are A LOT of chicken (like 20 pieces or so) and veggies. It taste like some cream sauce.
Chop chop bowl with grilled chicken was ok, but I find it TOO MUCH sweet and sour sauce(and it is everywhere) as well as a lot of veggies.
We were very hungry so enjoyed the food, but I am not sure we will order there again, and for sure this place is not for dine in(just too small). Also through UberEats there was 30% discounts, otherwise the food would cost 50$. But it taste kinda Chinese food, and Chinese I can have much better and bigger portions for the same money. Maybe if they will have more variety of flavors… but for now it is the place for “only 1 time dinner/lunch ever”. Just wanted to try. Tried and don’t think...
Read moreKind of a weird experience. It’s laid out like cheap a self serve restaurant like the old Automats of my youth. But it’s not in anyway cheap and instead of straight up self serve there’s an employees that awkwardly walks you through the ordering process, including looking over your shoulder and telling you what button to press next on the order screen. Then they continuously came to the table to tell us awkwardly that your order is coming up soon and that it’s almost done. On top of that weirdness that food is blah at best. Dumplings were, at the same time, hot as lava and as cold as ice. As soon as I had my food the front end staff disappeared so I had to go behind the curtain to get cutlery. And that were is got even weirder. There’s like 5 staff back there feverishly prepping food and filling orders but there was literally no one in the restaurant except for my wife, myself and the aforementioned mentioned awkward employee. Oh yeah, and the layout of the restaurant has a front door that opens directly to the seating area so when the door opens be prepared to eat whatever the wind brings in and sprinkles on your food. Hang onto your napkin because you only get one and the...
