I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mumbai Bits in Calgary, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience! This hidden gem exceeded all my expectations in terms of both service and food quality. From the moment I stepped into Mumbai Bits, I was greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality by the friendly staff. Their exceptional service made me feel like a valued guest throughout my visit. The attentive waitstaff was always ready to answer any questions I had about the menu and provided excellent recommendations. Now, let's talk about the food—it was absolutely divine! Mumbai Bits specializes in Mumbai Indian cuisine, and they truly captured the authentic flavors of Mumbai. Every dish I tried was a burst of delightful flavors that transported me back to the bustling streets of Mumbai. One particular standout was the Chicken Lollipop—an absolute hit! The succulent chicken, expertly marinated and cooked to perfection, was incredibly tender and flavorful. The accompanying sauce was a fantastic complement, adding a delightful tang to the dish. I couldn't resist ordering another serving! Aside from the Chicken Lollipop, I also sampled a variety of other dishes, each of which was outstanding. From the aromatic biryanis to the mouthwatering butter chicken, every bite was a true culinary delight. The attention to detail and the use of high-quality ingredients were evident in each dish. The ambiance at Mumbai Bits was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect place for a casual meal with friends or a memorable family dinner. The restaurant's cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols were also commendable. In conclusion, Mumbai Bits stands out as the best Mumbai Indian food in Calgary. The exceptional service, friendly staff, and incredible food make this establishment a must-visit for all Indian food enthusiasts. Whether you're a fan of traditional Mumbai cuisine or simply looking for an unforgettable dining experience, Mumbai Bits is the place to go. I can't wait to return and explore more of their delectable menu. Highly recommended!

I visited Mumbai Bites to celebrate my birthday. The food was good, and our server, Dammy, provided excellent service. We especially appreciated that when we ordered a second drink, Dammy asked who would be driving. We explained that my son was our designated driver. Even if we didn’t have a driver, we are responsible Canadians and would have taken an Uber or taxi. That level of responsibility check from Dammy was professional, and we valued it. Unfortunately, the evening took a very disappointing turn because of the bartender (a tall female staff member). She refused to serve additional drinks to my spouse and brother, even though neither of them was drunk or misbehaving. When asked, she could not provide any written policy or rule to support her refusal. Despite she handed over the card to call the manager. My spouse, who previously worked part-time at a liquor store while in school, understands responsible liquor service rules and felt unfairly judged. What made matters worse was a comment suggesting that “she is born here,” which implied she did not need to respect customers or could treat people differently. This attitude was extremely offensive and unprofessional. Both men are not daily or even weekly drinkers, and in over 15 years of dining out, we have never experienced such treatment. This incident ruined what should have been a joyful birthday celebration. We left without leaving a tip—not because of Dammy, who was excellent, but solely due to the behavior of the bartender. While the food itself was good, the overall experience was the worst I have ever had in a restaurant. Sadly, we will not be returning. I had never provided such a negative review however left with no choice. Nobody should judge anybody especially when no rule of conduct was violated.

Update July 2025 Alas this place seems to have also fallen prey to the condition of deflavouring of Indian food that seems to effect indian restaurants. Had a birthday dinner the other day and the entire food was bland and tasteless . The malai tikka was cold and totally bland, the pau bhaji was unremarkable with an undercooked tomato base. The worst was perhaps the coconut prawn curry which was as far from its konkan food roots as canada is from India . The fact that food was tasteless even after requesting spicy levels also shows a lack of attention to detail. Don't think we would ever go back for the food . We used to be fans of their cooking but not longer . ........ Previous review below ....... Had been fans of the food truck offerings and went to check out their new place in Inglewood. The location is great , has some outside patio space as well . Decor is good and the ambiance is cool and quirky. On the food front it was a mixed bag and most dishes scored 3/5 except the manchow soup which was a solid 4/5 . Service was a mixed bag with multiple fumbles in a relatively empty restaurant with the server forgetting our appetizer order and bringing out the main course first. Food reviews Manchow soup - 4/5 - great tasting with crunchy noodles on top Dahi puri -3/5 - puri was overstuffed with potatoes which left little room for the tasty dahi chutney combo Hakka noodles - 3/5 - the good was the ginger garlic taste. The bad was the high level of oil and soya causing the noodles to look almost black Momos - veg steamed 3/5 - stuffing was just ok . Maybe the fried one will be better Cocktails -2/5 -felt very watered down and not good value for money . Overall 3/5 . Will try again sometime and see how the other items stack up

Long since we had authentic Indian food! This longing led to a few google searches of where we should venture to now with our lustful hunger! Read about Mumbai Bites and had a look at the pictures. Our mind was made! Mumbai Bites it was! Our pursuit of Mumbai food (yuummmyyy) finally brought us to the restaurant! One look at the actual menu in our hands and I was salivating and enough to drown a village! What did we order?

Paani Puri (TASTE: 5/5; PORTION: 6 PURIS)

SAMOSA CHAAT (TASTE: 5/5; PORTION: 1 BIG SAMOSA)

CHICKEN LOLLIPOP (TASTE: 100/5, PORTION: 6 HUGE DRUMSTICKS) BEST LOLLIPOP I HAVE EVER EATEN!!!!!!!!

BURNT GARLIC RICE (VEG) (TASTE: 5/5, PURTION: HUGE)

nBURNT GARLIC RICE (CHICKEN) (TASTE: 5/5, PURTION: HUGE)

DEATH BY CHOCOLATE (TASTE: 4/5; PORTION: GOOD)

Loved every moment that I was there with my family! The food literally took me back to the local Pune food joints that we used to visit! What an experience! I met with the chef and Co-Owner - Chef Mayur since I personally wanted to thank him for the experience he created for us! I will keep going back here and the only place where I even think about touching Indian food. I also had a wonderful experience and interaction with the other Co-Owner - Rahul and of course the pretty Bhavana who was a wonderful hostess! :)

Thank you, team - Mumbai Bites for making the evening so special. Keep up the fabulous work, dishing out the authentic delicacies that you do. I will keep coming back to explore the other scrumptious dishes on the menu that I couldn't feast upon yet!

Love this place! If you are looking for authentic Indian (Mumbai/Pune) food, your search stops here. You will not be disappointed, in fact, you will be in food heaven followed by a food coma when you even just...
