Food tastes great but WAIT!! š , HOLD ON! keep reading! There are 5 main reasons as to why I wouldnāt eat here and neither should you.
The prices arenāt whatās listed , the updated prices cost more then whatās shown for each item , so when your paying an additional $4-5 per item, it adds up
Itās smoky as hell , the smoke and ventilation is a nightmare at this place making it uncomfortable to eat in peace , you feel like your eating in a house thatās burning down due to poor ventilation and all the smoke while they are cooking
The service is š©! , you order your food and have to manually go grab it from the front till , so when your ordering curry thatās filled to the brim , you have to perform a cirque de sole circus act just to successfully bring it back to your table while dodging tons of table corners and chairs in one piece , god forbid your wearing sandals š©“ while having to do this
The food isnāt fresh , the purpose of an open concept is to show your making orders fresh . Not to show people how often your using the microwave! 𤣠and how everything pulled out from old Tupperware while the meats arenāt even refrigeratedā¦
The main reason as to why Iām not coming back is that after the wonderful 4 reasons above āļø I had severe diarrhea twice , once immediately after and once the following morning , your body is an indicator of something not being right or fresh, so Iām not gambling with my health , therefore I will not be coming back , please eat here at your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came from Houston which is the Pakistani hub in the US. Any of yāall that have been there or lived there know what Iām talking about for food standards and food options there. Iām also a foodie and cook myself. The food here is quality and amazing to say the least and also do they non desi options which are just as good!
Nihari is the best Iāve had compared to anywhere being the flavor and the tenderness of the quality meat shanks. You can usually tell quality of a place by condiments too such as their spicy mayo and garnishes which are always fresh and tasty.
As for the wait time, well they make it fresh to order people. I mean quality food doesnāt magically appear on the plate unless its prepared or nuked in the microwave.
The owner is cool guy and I like him. He is no nonsense guy and takes care of his customers. The service model they have is great. The reason is whenever most desiās try to do fine dining or the server model here in Calgary they usually end up having fob owners and paindu international students working who donāt speak proper English and have idea of North American service standards, therefore defeating the purpose of the server. Iām happy with model and always tip and I guess thatās why I always get taken care of... who knows š

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is a Gem. We tried biryani, paratha roll, bun kabab, zinger, nihari, haleem, lasagnia and kheer during our one week stay in Calgary... each one of them was absolutely delicious and I don't have enough words to praise them. We've been outside Pakistan travelling to different countries since 9 years, so we have tried Pakistani food all over the world, but this restaurant has the pure authentic Karachi haleem, nihari and bun kabab that we have never eaten outsie Karachi anywhere else. Not to be missed is their magical kheer... it has no match... it is definitely not a regular rice based kheer...it took me back in time when some lady used to make kheer like this but never revealed her secret recipe. The restaurant owner Mr Imtiaz is a super friendly person who never let us feel that we were away from home. It's clean with nice set-up and extra delicious food. This is the best restaurant in Calgary. Best wishes to the team and thanks a lot for serving us the best food. Love from Mehwish and Sameer...
