We had a big Hair in the food and throwing up during night after having dinner at clay oven.I would like to give zero if possible but not a option. It happened on sep 23 around 9pm. We had guest from BC took them to clay oven for dinner. We ordered tandoori wings and fish tikka in starters. wings were fine but very small portion and tikka was not even cooked properly. Ordered chicken tikka masala, malai kofta 🌶, salad, raita, roti and garlic naan and waitress recommend to order one more dish as she mentioned it’s very small portion and won’t be enough for 4 people and it takes 25 minutes a cook a new dish better to order now.the restaurant was empty there was no one except us. We added chicken curry what a trick to plus sell/ sale strategy. While eating chicken tikka masala a big hair came out of it. I forgot to take the picture should have taken. Omg We could not eat even 1 more bite after that. We were all shocked and called waitress she was sorry about it and ask if we need a new dish instead Really? We told her we don’t need anything.Nothing tastes good malai kofta had dry red chilies on the top to make it spicy. Chicken curry was too watery. One dish was ok and it had hair? She asked if we want to take it home. Really? No manager came to apologise for a hair in food. For them it’s a small thing and didn’t bother them. They charge us in full except the tikka dish in which there was a hair. We paid $95+. we left half of food on table as is. They didn’t maintain the quality neither hygiene. The chef was cooking inside without a hair net and waitress were serving without hair net too and they both had long hair. What else you will except in food but a hair. To wear a hair net in food industry is a must so management need to look into it. All in all very bad exp and now my friend is sick and was throwing up all night. She messaged me at 2:50am during the night if I am ok as she was throwing up till then after dinner. I had stomach pain all night. We had nightmare. Will never go back and recommend anyone. Please don’t play with people’s health it’s serious matter maintain good hygiene and...
Read moreAfter reading a lot of positive reviews online and finding the ambience in the photos posted pretty good I decided to take my family for a dinner on Saturday 27th July 2019. We were a group of 10 people and placed the order accordingly( as we would in any other Indian restaurant). As soon as the food arrived I was shocked to see the quantity of the Food. A $17 Ghost (which usually costs $13-15 in other restaurants like Lajawaab, Namaskaar, tamarind) was way too less in quantity. I liked the food but I have never seen such a low quantity in any of the Indian restaurants I have visited till now. Of course we had to order more food because the quantity was 60% of what was expected. Also, usually restaurants will serve the food in metallic utensil but here I was really disappointed to see food being served in small Plastic bowls. Like really small plastic bowls for a $17 dish. How are you guys planning to become a niche restaurant if you are not going to focus on food presentation? The place was moderately packed but still whatever order we were placing was taking a lot of time to arrive. Around 35% of my time was spent on looking for server in order to attend our table. When we ordered a desert it was brought one by one taking a lot of time again. I really didn't understand why would any restaurant take 20 mins to serve an ice cream which has to be just taken out from an Ice Cream box and served. The quality of Food was good, not amazingly good but still Ok. But what good is food when I am always waiting for the food to arrive or looking for a server to come attend the table. If you are going to serve small quantities for high prices atleast hire more staff so that a customer can have good time for the money he...
Read moreI try out different indian food with my Asian friends. And clay oven did not impress me at all. My honest feedback about all aspects. Ambience...Good. So I am giving one star for this aspect. They have dinner buffets on two days of week. I would rate their food preparation and taste below par compared to the other Indian restaurants in the town and calgary north east area. Lamb curry was horrible. Butter chicken was average. Only item that I liked in their buffet menu was Fish fry and one vegetable dal curry. So if you are every trying out their buffet, please read the reviews and genuine feedback from Asian friends who know more about the quality, taste and preparation of food. I read their reviews before our visit, but took a chance to experience the food myself. You need to try and taste at other Indian restaurants to know how poor is this restaurants food quality. It looks like they do not have a professional chef managing the kitchen and prepared by some inexperienced staff. Coming to the dessert, rice pudding was tasty. But the custard cream is not worth mentioning. Just to show more items in buffet, they include this custard cream with no proper ingredients or cut fruits in it. Do not get carried away by people visiting this restaurant. Many go to this place (like me and my friends) considering that they offer dinner buffet at reasonable price and good ambience. But you will be disappointed with the taste and quality of food if you have experienced at other Indian restaurants. Overall a...
