I recently visited the Dairy Queen Grill & Chill located at 5308 68 Ave SE in Calgary, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of outstanding. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the modern and inviting exterior. The building, with its contemporary brick and stone design, stood out beautifully against the Calgary landscape, instantly making me feel welcome.
As I parked, I appreciated the spacious and well-organized parking area. The clearly marked handicapped spots right near the entrance showed the restaurant’s commitment to accessibility and customer convenience. Entering the establishment, I was greeted warmly by the staff, whose hospitality set the tone for a delightful visit.
The interior of the Dairy Queen was bright and clean, thanks to the large windows that allowed natural light to flood the space. This created a pleasant and airy atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal or a quick treat. The seating was comfortable and well-arranged, providing ample space for both small and large groups.
What truly made this Dairy Queen stand out was the exceptional service. The staff were not only friendly but also incredibly efficient and attentive. They ensured that every customer felt valued and taken care of. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality in a fast-food setting, and it truly enhanced the overall experience.
The menu offered a wonderful variety of options, from their famous soft-serve ice cream and signature shakes to a wide selection of burgers and fries. I opted for a classic burger combo, and it was served hot and fresh, with the perfect balance of flavors. The ice cream, as expected, was creamy and delicious, living up to Dairy Queen’s stellar reputation.
What also caught my attention were the promotional posters on the windows, highlighting new and popular items. These were not only visually appealing but also informative, making it easy for me to decide on my order. The convenience of being able to order online was another big plus, especially for those days when you’re in a rush.
Overall, my visit to the Dairy Queen Grill & Chill in Calgary was exceptional. The combination of a welcoming atmosphere, outstanding hospitality, delicious food, and convenient service makes this location a standout choice. Whether you’re looking for a quick meal or a sweet treat, this Dairy Queen is sure to exceed your expectations. Highly...
Read moreI have come back to change my review. Tonight was the worst experience I've ever had. I arrived and there was two vehicles outside. drive thru didn't appear busy. When I walked in I immediately had a face full of flies. big ones, small ones, they were everywhere, like a thick curtain. I went to wash my hands as coming from work, they were dirty. There was no soap in the women's washroom. I had a quick rinse and found some sanitizer in my purse to get me by.. I placed my order, with a lady who wasn't wearing a name tag and had to repeat my order 3 times because she kept getting things wrong. Three skip drivers came and left before I even received a drink cup. When I went to the pop machine, I was greeted by more flies. The Pepsi was out in the machine and they didn't care to fix it. 12 minutes to get my food, that's half my lunch break... now I have zero choice but to eat quickly so I am not late returning to work. When I got the food, it was hot, but the fries container was only half full. The burger was so greasy it was DRIPPING out onto my hands. I quickly finished eating, went to return my tray and the garbages appeared to have not been changed all day based off the amount of flies that came out of the receptacle ( keep in mind it was 32 degrees today) . It was disgusting, I kid you not you couldn't sit anywhere without seeing dead flies on window sills or the floor and tables. I once again tried to wash my hands and I came out to tell the young lady behind the counter that there was no soap and she rolled her eyes and says " sorry" not even trying to fill it so I can wash my hands. That's unsanitary. Ever since they switched owners/managers the quality has gone so far down. I wont be returning, and I will tell everyone I know in this area to not go here.. I am going to file a complaint with Alberta health because...
Read moreThis is one of, if not my favourite DQs I have visited. When you first walk in, the lighting seems a bit dim however I quite like the atmosphere especially since this looks like an older location, so the booths have cushions instead of putting style over comfort. Although I will say the booths are a little cramped.
We ordered two number 9s (two double original cheeseburger combos) and a small chocolate dipped cone. The burgers was more than satisfactory and the fries were delicious, both were hot and the burger have properly melted cheese. The cone was tasty and everything you could want in a chocolate dipped cone (this is true for all DQ locations, the small cone is not small, it is a good size for anyone, so don’t be fooled. They are called Dairy Queen for a reason) all in all the food was great! I just wish they brought back the DQ Julius, but that is not the fault of the staff, who gave great service. Everyone was very accommodating and seemed to work well together. The cherry on top is that the manager was also working which (to me) shows good management. Something interesting to note is that they have a “Manager Special” which I think every DQ should implement, however it would be nice if the servers let us know that there was a way to make our chosen meal cheaper, but oh well. Bathroom are good and clean.
Overall, this location is great and gets a well deserved 9.5/10 and I do think this is one of the best...
