Edo Japan — Restaurant in Calgary

Not usually a person who eats Edo Japan, but have been before. I saw the poster for the Japanese Curry Chicken and it looked good so in I went.

When I arrived, the restaurant looked very clean and tables were free of leftover food debris, and I was greeted by the welcome choir from the back with a round of everyone's favourite "Hello". That was a different, delightful and welcomed surprise.

The food was prepared and delivered with speed and accuracy, the person who brought it out said thank you and that they hoped I enjoyed my meal. It felt like I was in a higher class of restaurant. The food was as advertised! Hot, good portion sizes, delicious, and most of all it actually looked like the poster.

To the staff at this location thank you. Thank you for caring enough about your job and having pride in your work, a pride seldom seen in "Fast Food" establishments as of late. I rated 5 stars because...

The customer service was terrible. They put at least three servings of sauce in it. It is clearly to taste that they either made a big mistake or they deliberately did that. I tried to ask them to remake it but they accused me of already finished eating their meal and refuse to do anything about it. In fact, I haven't even started eating it. And they also said every food in their restaurant is this salty. I was eating it with my friends and their food did not taste this salty like my food. When I was talking to the manager, she kept interrupting me and accusing me of lying and kept saying all their food are this salty, which are clearly false accusation and lies. I've eaten poke bowl in other Edo Japan but none of the food are like this. I am really disappointed by Edo's service and I wouldn't eat in Edo...

Got the chop chop bowl & kami sushi platter. Sushi was alright, not amazing or great. I was just craving sushi and edo was the closet one around. I got the beef chop chop bowl, it was decent, I got a decent portion of meats and the veggies were a good amount too. Overly a decent meal nothing to rave about but I got full at the end. Mostly due part to all the rice from both dishes. The customer service at this location can be better, the women who took are order looked very unhappy and had a bit of attitude when we ordered. Once our order was ready they didn’t even call us over, just left the table on the counter to be picked up. We were very confused as we didn’t know if it was ours, had to ask them if our food was ready and they just said “yes, right there”. Okay-ish food and unfriendly...
