Extremely Disappointing Experience at A&W 32 Ave NE – Order #38972 I’m writing to share a very disappointing experience we had at the A&W located on 32 Ave NE on July 14, 2025, at around 9:04 PM. This was our first time visiting this particular location, and unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst experience we've ever had at any A&W. We went through the drive-thru and specifically ordered the new Paneer Veggie Burger combo with fries and a small Coke. While placing our order, my husband clearly mentioned the new veggie paneer burger, and we also inquired about available Coke sizes. Instead of simply answering our question, the staff member at the drive-thru counter (employee name: Amandeep C.) began talking about smoothies and other drink options without listening to our actual request. It felt like she was more interested in upselling than understanding our order. When we went to collect the order at the window, I politely asked for ketchup, but without checking, she just said, “It’s all in there.” Trusting her, we didn’t double-check the contents or the bill at that time. When we got home, we realized that not only did we receive the wrong burger (we were given the masala veggie burger instead of the paneer one), but the fries were stale and the Coke tasted flat—just like sweet syrup without any fizz. The entire order was inedible and ended up being thrown out. We essentially wasted $13.01 on food we didn’t order and couldn’t eat. We chose this location because of its 24-hour drive-thru convenience, but this experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. We were not heard, our order was ignored, and the food quality was extremely poor. I would highly recommend visiting any other A&W location where staff take the time to listen, confirm, and fulfill customer requests properly. I ordered a veggie burger, and somehow it came with bacon. Let that sink in: they put meat on a vegetarian item. That’s not just a simple mistake — it’s a total failure to understand the basics of food service, dietary restrictions, and customer care. When I went inside to have the issue resolved, the incompetence only escalated. One employee told me they would remake the burger and issue a refund — which, frankly, is the bare minimum when you serve someone the complete opposite of what they ordered. But then a manager appeared and flatly contradicted them, saying I had to choose one or the other. So now we’ve got internal confusion, lack of training, and zero accountability — all wrapped in one sad excuse for customer service. As if that wasn’t enough, stepping inside the restaurant was a shock. The place was filthy. The floors were sticky, the counters looked like they hadn’t been wiped down all day, and the general state of the kitchen was enough to make anyone lose their appetite.
