i had asked for a psl initially, but changed my mind and opted for a lavender matcha latte. the barista had repeated my order back to me and confirmed the matcha. ultimately, i was given a lavender pumpkin spice latte, which i hadn't realized until i left (it was a rather urgent step out and i was on the phone). although, i can attest to that being one of the most despicable combinations in a latte, ever.
i didn't complain initially because things happen, but then again the same barista made me an americano recently and somehow had managed to mess something as simple as that up as well. all the other staff have been exceptional, but unfortunately this one barista isn't providing optimal, or even base line standard results when it comes to creating drinks from their menu.
their attitude can be a little hit or miss as well, which again stands out sorely in comparison to their co-workers. as biased as this seems, i might have to avoid getting my drinks done by them, or just avoid coming altogether for mediocrity in a cup of $8.
Update: Thanks for responding. I've been coming here regularly enough for almost two years now, and I made sure to point out that the rest of your staff have always been great. My feedback wasn't about how you operate collectively, it was about one individual whose inconsistency and attitude really stood out. Respectfully, it's not a "we" problem at all, I can attest to the place being great. But my problem has been enough to hit my wallet and be unsatisfying entirely. Hence why, when something as easy as water and espresso isn't satisfactory, it's not worth it for me. Best of luck with Fringe's...
Read moreI've only found two coffee shops in this entire city that I like - Fringe is my favourite of those two. People tell me Aussies are coffee & tea snobs, I've definitely been super picky since moving here, so maybe I'm too critical of other businesses. But at Fringe they make THE BEST London Fogs and English Breakfast teas and nice, smooth lattes - Haven's drinks in particular are PERFECT literally every single time, I always hope she's working lol. Their Blossom Fizz (I think) is also a fun warm weather drink. They seem to really care about the quality of the beverages they put out - they don't ruin my tea, they don't burn their espresso shots and they steam their milk to perfection. I usually visit a couple of times a week because the place is aesthetically pleasing and I like the staff. I only wish they had more food and brought back their soups, I would get lunch there more often. They're like a comforting hug in coffee shop form and they make me miss my home country a...
Read moreMy partner and I have resided in Montgomery for about 10 years now, but formerly lived in the Beltline for 30 years and got used to going to a variety of cafes and coffee houses throughout the Beltline and Mission. Living in Montgomery we missed having access to funky coffee houses and decided to give Fringes a try a few weeks ago. Impressed by the super friendly service (and working in retail food service for many years myself, (now retired, praise be!!) I know it's not always easy to be that upbeat and dealing with the public!). On our 2nd visit our order got mixed up and we received 2 small cappucchino rather than the large my partner thought he'd ordered. Despite our offering to pay the difference, we were told in a very amicable way not to worry about it. They were more interested in us getting what we actually wanted than the money. AWESOME!! And we got to keep the smalls too!! Definitely are going to make this a regular stop...
