Hankki West 85st — Restaurant in Calgary

Hankki has become one of our favourites for take out and have been to 2 different locations (17th ave and 85st West). Overall our experience has been great with both locations. However, we've experienced inconsistencies at this location which is why I'm going with 3 stars. When they get it right, the food and experience is great. I simply find it unfortunate that it's not the case every time. Sometimes the bowls are full to the brim, which is great, other times the bowls are only 3/4 full. The other issue we've encountered is their Korean style hotdogs being overcooked, almost burnt. I get that these things can happen sometimes, but unfortunately for us, it hasn't been a one off situation and has happened a handful of times at this point.

EDIT: After my original 3 star review, management reached out to make things right. They ended up providing us with a free order which I think was fair and the food was great so I changed my review to 5 star. That said, we have since ordered once more from that location and unfortunately, they have shown once again that they cannot be consistent. We ordered 2 bowls, one large with hot spicy level, extra sauce and one regular with light spicy level, and extra sauce for both. Despite that we got the regular amount of sauce and the "hot" bowl was milder than my wife's bowl which was light. Also, my bowl barely had more content than my wife's regular sized bowl which we found was also not as full as we usually get. So unfortunately, we are done with this location. We were coming from the deep SW of the city to order from them but we will drive the extra time to go to the one on 17th ave which we never had issues with for the whole year we lived in the that area. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Hankki in broadcast ave and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the friendly staff! The atmosphere at Hankki is modern and inviting, unlike other locations - creating a perfect ambiance for an enjoyable meal. The comfortable seating and well-spaced tables added to the overall comfort of the dining area. I was blown away by the speed at which the food arrived at my table and was brought to me which is something that has ever happened in any of the other locations. The flavors were vibrant, and the presentation was impeccable. Every bite was a burst of deliciousness! What truly sets Hankki apart is the exceptional service provided by the entire team. The staff members were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was nothing short of perfection. HK even went out of his way on my break to clean up for us after we finished dining. Overall, I can confidently say that this is the best Hankki I’m Calgary. The combination of delectable food, efficient service, and inviting ambiance makes it a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in a memorable dining experience. I always go with the classic mozza corn dog whenever I stop by. The corn dog is always amazing and tastes great, but sometimes I end up waiting a really long time for it! One day I was in and out in like 5 minutes, another day I was sitting there waiting for almost 30 minutes. It wasn't even like it was very busy in the restaurant, there was 3 other people there, all with their food. It took one of the staff around 20 minutes to walk up to the table I was waiting at and asked me what I order was waiting for. That was at the point I think he realised that my order hadn't even been started. He came back about 3 minutes later with the corn dog and apologised for the really long wait. I totally get that sometimes it can be really busy, maybe threes a really big online order, or even you have less staff in the kitchen but regardless, I think waiting 30 minutes for a single corn dog is kinda ridiculous!

I feel every time I come back the wait time is around 15ish minutes, regardless If I pre-order online or order in store. I will continue to come back but I hope the wait times can be shortened for...
