I was here yesterday with my âpartner in crimeâ, for lunch and a drink. It was a Saturday just after 1pm.
We were sat immediately to our choice of spot, we picked a large booth near the middle of the pub, but had the option of the patio. The patio was secured by a crying baby, so I dared not. The baby seemed to fall asleep though, so either way, we all won. The booth we had was large with roomy seating. They felt nice, would be good for larger groups and had lots of room on the top. Slightly less intimate across the table, but overall I liked them. The place seemed nice. Screens had some sports on, volume of the room was low, things were chill.
The restaurant wasnât too busy at this time, and we were hosted and served promptly and cordially. I forgot to ask our servers name, maybe she told us and I forgot. She did a great job. The hostess as well.
Our table ordered a Harvest Hash bowl, Holy Grale burger with Parm fries, Peach Bod ale (Parallel 49) and a Super Saturation hazy ale by Cabin brewing.
Our beers came quick and we enjoyed both our choices! As a former trained beer handler, I did pick up a slight note of diacetyl (butteryness) in the Peach bod. It wasnât unpleasant in this beer, but I noticed it. Whether this was a bad keg or an issue with the tap lines, who can be certain. We did not ask for a new beer, and I donât think my partner even noticed this flavour. The beer was tasty.
The Super Saturation NEPA beer was interesting and quite nice. It seemed to start tasting better as I ate my burger! Starts out a bit resiny, piney with just a hint of citrus rind. Then it pops with tropical and citrus fruit with food.
The Parm fries were a good choice with the beer and burger. Delicious, crunchy, parmy. The parm wasnât quite what I expected (grainy instead of shredded) but still worked. Could have used a bit of garnish.
The Holy Grale burger is really good. The aoli, HG bbq sauce and that sharp cheddar, bacon. Mmm Lets go! I enjoyed every bite. I used to make and keg Holy Grale; it was fun to try a bbq sauce from it!
The Breakfast Harvest Hash bowl was very good also. I only had a couple bites, but they were great. Good sized and seasoned potatoes, nice topping, eggs were perfect.
Overall, I would check this place out again. I want to try more of their menu, and the staff all seem very nice.
Thank you 722 Word Bier Haus,...
Read moreCame here with a group of friends for a birthday yesterday evening around 9:00pm. Our waitress was rude right off the bat and without even saying hi went right to how we had one bill and that it was 18% Gratuity. I don't mind tipping that because it is a big group but she was so inconsiderate and not helpful all night. She took forever to ask us if we wanted a drink and continued to take her time with everything else even though it was dead all night. It seemed as if she just didn't care how good she was because she knew she would get her tip anyway. Food took forever and a few orders were missed. None of us even got offered another drink! She never checked on us until we had finished eating and then she again mentioned that it was 18% gratuity. She would not divide up the bill as there were couples there that wanted to pay in two. Even if we still tipped her the right amount. Two of our friends had to leave early and asked for their bill and she said no and made all of us wait there till the last person was done eating just to get the bill. After we asked 3 times for the bill she finally took her time to waltz over and give it to us. By now we had been waiting over 20 minutes and like I said, it was not busy!! Once we got the bill she made us all calculate our own totals and make up the cash. Unbelievable. After another 30 ish minutes of her watching us do that, we all left unsatisfied and angry. I live in the area and would like to visit again but after this first experience, 722 has lost 13 customers and anyone who knows us as we will tell them it was terrible. I would love to get some sort of refund or something as we spent a lot of money for terrible service. Natasha was our waitress incase you...
Read moreToday I had one of the most delicious burgers of my life. I ordered the holy grale burger minus horseradish aioli. I am the type of guy who eats one thing at a time. Fries and then burger, NEVER at the same time. I began with my fries and they did not disappoint. After my fries came the burger. If i had known it was going to be so delicious i would have taken a picture. I assumed like everyone else that it was just a burger. I was wrong. This burger had so much flavour, My mouth was attempting to register just what was going on inside my mouth. Usually there is a flavour or two that stands out and the others get lost. The flavour of everything in this burger, or at least the one that was made for me hit me equally all at once. I could taste the sweet sweet taste of the caramelized onions, the sautĂ©ed mushrooms that were so soft and mixed with the applewood smoked cheddar that I never wanted my chewing to end. This along with the cool crisp lettuce, the amazing bbq sauce, the generously placed and perfectly cooked bacon served on a chuck patty has me regretting not ordering two. I have to add all of this in between a brioche bun made this meal one of the best Iâve ever had. I am from Ontario and came to see the mountains. I saw the mountains and stayed for a burger and i have to admit, i am not sure which i am in...
