I’m writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service my family and I received during our reservation for 11 people on May 19.
Despite having a confirmed reservation, we received multiple messages saying our table would be ready in 10–15 minutes. After waiting patiently, we went inside at 11:30 and were told it would be another 20 minutes. We continued waiting, and when my father checked again, he was informed the table was finally ready.
At that point, my mother, who has a disability, drove our vehicle closer to the entrance so she wouldn’t have to walk as far. However, when we entered the restaurant together, we were shocked to be told by a staff member that our table had been given away because “we saw you driving away.” This assumption was completely inappropriate and baseless—we were never contacted to confirm whether we were leaving, nor did we cancel our reservation.
To be told we had to wait an additional 30 minutes, due to someone’s judgmental assumption, was extremely disappointing and frankly disrespectful. The lack of understanding and sensitivity, especially regarding my mother’s condition, was appalling. We were not late, we communicated throughout, and we never indicated that we were cancelling.
This experience reflected the worst customer service we’ve ever encountered. I hope this feedback encourages a serious review of how reservations, communication, and customer interactions are handled, particularly when it comes to assumptions about guests’...
Read moreJust An Average Brunch Spot.
Popped in on my drive through Calgary as I’ve seen many posts online and figured I’d give it a go. I honestly have no complaints but I don’t have any highlights either. The food and it’s price are on par with one another. Generally the prices are lower in comparison to many other brunch spots in the city, although the flavour seems to match that average price. It’ll fill you up, but it’s kind of boring. As a chef I have this rule: If you are designing a menu item you need to sit down and eat the entire meal as you would present it to a customer. It is then that you will understand the experience you are instilling on your patrons. I ordered the “Spicy Chicken Breakfast Bowl”. Fried chicken tossed in a creamy sriracha with cheddar, two soft poached eggs on a bed of shredded hash browns. Topped with hollandaise and green onions (and micro-greens). This all reads nicely but after a few bites it starts to get really boring and flavourless. You have all these umami flavours and nothing to really cut through it. Not even the hollandaise was lemony enough to contrast. For $15, sure whatever I’ll leave full, but I’m not super likely to make my way back as it was only average. Even a tangy lime garlic aioli, sweet teriyaki drizzle and way more green onions would have taken this up many notches. Service was better than...
Read moreA disappointment all around. We got told that we had to wait to order our food as there were a few other tables ahead of us that needed to order first. While still waiting to order, we saw our waitress going around filling up people's coffee cups (we actually had three refills of coffee BEFORE we got to order food.) No one popped by to give us updates on our food. Finally after 45 minutes of being in the restaurant, our food came. They got my order wrong ( whatever, it happens) but when we mentioned to the waitress that we've been here for 45 minutes, she offers to get us the manager who can "explain". I told her I don't need an explanation and she somehow miscommunication my concerns to the manager who then came over to apologize about the hash brown mix up and that "these things do happen." Clearly they didn't see the real issue. They offer gf toast but be prepared to pay 2 dollars extra for ONE piece of gf toast while they forget to offer you jam to go with it. At no point did anyone come around asking how it was. No apologies for the long wait, nothing. Will not go there ever again and will definitely not recommend them to anyone. No wonder the other brunch place one minute down the road had an...
