Read moreWe love middle eastern food. Since this location just opened in our neighbourhood, we were excited and decided to give it a try. They had a lot to live up to. On our way home after picking the kids up, we stopped by for some take out. I had the beef shawarma and my wife had the donair shawarma. Being a foodie, a restaurant owner and as a parent, this place passed with flying colors. As we entered the restaurant, our noses were filled with the aroma of their food. The place was inviting and the washroom was clean. Service from the gentleman who served us was definitely top notch. He was pulling jokes left, right and center that was totally funny. He made us feel welcome and also talked and joked with my son. He is not an easy kid especially when it came to strangers but my son was so comfortable with him. Anyone who can be patient with my kids is definitely in our good books. Both shawarma were excellent! Lots of meat and we opted with all veggies except olives. Meat was tender and abundant. We also added all the sauces that made it drippy (the way we like) and hot sauce for a little kick and the taste was fabulous. The only thing I would say is that I wished the restaurant had more seats. The food is that good that it was packed for dinner.
Ron's rating (IMHO), out of 5* Food: 5* Service: 5* Price: 5* Ambience: 4* Cleanliness: 5*
We will be back for more! This time I am going to try a more traditional middle eastern food like the...
Read moreI love Jerusalem Shawarma, and have been a loyal patron for years. Even when they were shutdown by AHS years ago, I still supported them. I love their flavours and was always treated well at their Richmond Road SW location, in my old neighborhood. I moved to West Springs a few months ago and have tried this location a few times. Each time there has been something mildly disappointing, but my last visit was the last straw. I maybe alone here, but I am big on first impressions when taking my hard-earned cash to pay the high costs of eating out these days. It is free to make someone happy they are supporting your business. I walked in to no greeting from anyone behind the line and it wasn't busy. Most people that go to Jerusalem Shawarma knows there is usually someone in the kitchen giving a smile and "hello!". Stood in front of the cashier who was on a call, fair enough, but no acknowledgement or even a look. She finished the call and I was directly in front of her to still, no acknowledgement whatsoever. After a bit longer I started a 20 second countdown in my head that if at least one employee doesn't acknowledge I exist with my wallet out, I would leave. I left.
Maybe I was spoiled at the other locations, but it all starts with the basics. Hopefully they can improve the service because the food...
