I went in around 6:30pm and the owner is so kind! There were a couple people ordering after me but she tried her best to make the banh mi's as quickly as she could while maintaining the quality.
I got the sate beef and assorted cold cut banh mi. The sate beef is my absolute favourite out of all the banh mi shops I have tried so far. Meat isn't tough, has enough umami but not too sweet or salty. It pairs excellently with the pickled carrots and daikon. The owner did not skimp on ingredients either which I appreciate. Their bread is just okay, it's best eaten freshly toasted. Otherwise, it can be quite hard at the ends and dry if you leave it for a while or have leftovers for the next day.
Their assorted cold cut banh mi was alright as well. It wasn't my favourite but by no means nothing bad. It had a good ratio of meat to veggies but I kept feeling like something was missing as I was eating it?? Overall I will definitely...
Read moreI’m so happy I found this place. This banh mi restaurant used to be on 17ave, by Giant Tiger. But the owner sold the restaurant a few years back. She reopened this restaurant recently on Centre Street.
I got to say this restaurant sells the most delicious banh mi in Calgary. I missed their banh mi so much when they closed down and cried happy tears when I found out that they reopened. Their House Special Banh Mi is our family’s absolute favourite; it is so unique you cannot find this type of banh mi anywhere else in Calgary for sure. The House Special is also most of my Viet friends' favourite too.
The owner is super sweet. She always has a smile on her face which spreads positive energy. I enjoy little conversation with her very much whenever I come to pick up my order.
I hope this place stay forever. I would give this place 100 stars if I could. Definitely recommend this little restaurant (especially the House...
Read moreMoon works her butt off and deserves way more recognition. You can tell she takes pride in every order she makes. I got the beef bánh mì and my girlfriend got the chicken and beef mix—both were packed with flavour. The meat was super moist, and the bread had that perfect combo: crispy on the outside, fluffy inside.
Each bite was balanced. You get subtle hints of jalapeño, a touch of crushed peanuts, and just the right amount of sauce and mayo to tie it all together without overwhelming the rest. It’s clear this isn’t just fast food—it’s thoughtful, homemade, and made with care.
On top of all that, the prices are almost too good to be true. Food this solid, for this cheap, made by someone who genuinely cares? It’s rare. Moon is kind, hard-working, and her food speaks for itself. Go support her—you...
